The wine list at Café Patachou Carmel is basically a footnote — a handful of options tucked behind a very capable brunch and lunch menu. It reads less like a curated program and more like someone checked a box. That said, the prices are gentle enough that it's hard to get truly angry.
We're looking at a list that tops out around 10–15 SKUs, anchored almost entirely by the Patachou Private Label Prosecco and a trio of Ramona Wine Spritz canned options. There's no red wine presence to speak of, no still whites worth discussing, and zero regional depth. The Italy nod via Prosecco and the canned spritz modernity of Ramona basically tell the whole story — this is a mimosa-and-brunch-bubbles program, nothing more. It fits the café concept, sure, but it leaves anyone hoping for a proper glass of wine at lunch with nowhere to go.
Four to eight pours available depending on the day, though the Ramona spritz options — sparkling rosé, blood orange, and ruby grapefruit — dominate the by-the-glass landscape alongside the house Prosecco. At $10–$12 a glass, nobody's getting gouged, but nobody's getting particularly inspired either. There's no rotation to speak of and no sense that the glass list has been touched since they opened.
Patachou Private Label Prosecco — $39
At $39 a bottle for a house Prosecco, this is the only move if you're here with a group. Pop it with French toast and call it a reasonable Saturday.
Ramona Wine Spritz – Ruby Grapefruit
It's a canned wine spritz, so yes, it's a low bar — but Ramona makes a genuinely decent product, and the ruby grapefruit version is bright and honest. Order it on the patio without apology.
Patachou Private Label Prosecco (by the glass)
At $12 a glass against a $39 bottle price, you're paying a standard markup for something that's perfectly fine but entirely unexciting. If you're only having one glass, just grab a Ramona and move on.
Ramona Wine Spritz – Sparkling Rosé + Avocado Toast
The dry, lightly effervescent rosé spritz cuts through the richness of the avocado and brightens up whatever seasonal garnish they've got going. It's a daytime drink doing exactly what daytime drinks should do.
❌ The Bottom Line
Café Patachou is a genuinely good café that simply doesn't care about wine — and that's fine, because neither does most of its lunch crowd. Come for the French toast, grab a Ramona if you need bubbles, and don't come here expecting anything resembling a wine program.

Grille 39 is fine — and fine is the ceiling. If you're staying at the hotel and don't want to drive anywhere, the wine list will get you through dinner without incident. Just don't go out of your way for it.

Northwest Carmel · Carmel · Upscale Italian
Convivio is a reliable wine destination for Northwest Carmel — the Italian focus is coherent, the top-tier bottles are legitimate, and it'll satisfy most tables without complaint. The markups sting a bit and the list plays it too safe to earn a higher badge, but if you're in the neighborhood and want a proper bottle with dinner, you won't leave disappointed.

Aberdeen Social House is doing more with its wine list than the address or the concept would lead you to believe, and Rootstock's global curation keeps it from feeling like an afterthought. Not a destination wine program yet, but a genuinely solid call for the north side of Indy.

Mezzo is a perfectly comfortable neighborhood Italian spot with a wine list that matches its vibe — approachable, familiar, and not trying too hard. If you know what you're doing, steer toward the Chianti Classico options and away from the marquee brands; if you don't, you'll still have a fine glass of wine with your pasta.

Tucci's Carmel isn't trying to reinvent wine in Indiana, and that's fine — it's a reliable, Italian-focused list that does its job alongside good food. Show up on a Monday, grab a bottle of Tignanello at half price, and you're having a genuinely great night.

Juniper on Main isn't trying to be a wine destination, and that honesty is actually refreshing. Show up at 3:30 on a Tuesday, order a half-price glass, and let the shrimp and grits do the heavy lifting.
