Wingman Metrics
Fifty-nine labels at a French brasserie in Atlanta — that's a wine list that's actually trying. It skews Old World without being precious about it, and the price ceiling of $588 means there's room to go deep if you want, but nobody's forcing you.
The Rhône shows up twice and earns it: Guigal's Côtes-du-Rhône Rouge and his Côte-Rôtie Brune et Blonde 2021 anchor the French section nicely, with Chapoutier's Belleruche rounding things out for the casual drinker. Burgundy gets a respectable nod via Joseph Drouhin's Gevrey-Chambertin 2018 and Louis Jadot's Mercurey 2020 — not a deep cellar, but the picks are correct. Broader international coverage includes Chateau Musar Jeune (Lebanon, a genuinely interesting call), Quinta do Crasto from the Douro, and Roberto Henríquez's Rivera del Notro from Chile, which suggests someone on the buying side has range. The weakest spot is the New World side, where Decoy and Portillo feel like they wandered in from a neighborhood steakhouse.
Sixteen by-the-glass options is generous for a list this size and the range holds up — you can go Rhône, Bordeaux-adjacent, or swing over to Soter's Planet Oregon Pinot without committing to a bottle. Glass prices run $10–$60, which is a wide spread; the entry-level pours are honest, and the top end is reserved for the serious stuff. We'd love to see more rotation here, but what's on offer covers most occasions.
E. Guigal Côtes-du-Rhône Rouge — $14
Guigal's entry-level Rhône punches well above its price tag — it's a real producer making real wine, not a label designed to move volume. At glass pricing, this is the move if you want French character without drama.
Chateau Musar Jeune Red
Lebanese wine on an Atlanta brasserie list is not something you see every day. Musar Jeune is Serge Hochar's approachable tier — Cinsault-forward, earthy, and genuinely different from everything else on this list. Most tables will walk right past it. Don't.
Decoy Limited Paso Robles
Decoy is a fine grocery store Cab, but it doesn't belong on the same list as Gevrey-Chambertin and Côte-Rôtie. At brasserie markup it's an overpriced placeholder. Spend $10 more and get the Guigal Côte-Rôtie if you're feeling the Rhône, or just skip down to the Portillo if budget is the concern.
Joseph Drouhin Gevrey-Chambertin 2018 + Steak Frites
Gevrey-Chambertin and a properly cooked steak frites is a classic pairing that never needs an explanation — the iron and dark fruit in the Pinot Noir mirrors the char on the beef, and the acidity cuts through the butter. This is what the list is built for.
The Bottom Line
Brasserie Lundi's wine list does what it promises: it complements a French-leaning kitchen without getting in the way or gouging you. It's not a destination wine program, but it's an honest one — and in Atlanta, that counts for more than you'd think.
