Cajun-Vietnamese kitchen meets genuinely curious wine list

Thirty-nine labels sounds modest until you actually read them — this list has clearly been put together by someone who likes wine more than they like impressing you. The range leans old-world and cerebral, with enough curveballs to make you look twice at a place selling crawfish and bánh mì-adjacent dishes.
The bottle list punches well above its weight class for a casual Cajun-Vietnamese spot. You've got Loire Valley representation from Dom de la Pepiere Muscadet and Domaine Fouassier Sancerre, a Finger Lakes Riesling from Herman J. Wiemer, and an Eyrie Vineyards Pinot Gris from Oregon — these are wines that belong on serious lists, not just neighborhood restaurant menus. The red side is a bit patchier, mixing genuinely interesting picks like the Tenuta Sta Maria Corvina Blend and Del Rio Grenache & Syrah alongside the predictable Alexander Valley Cab. There are real gaps — no skin-contact wines, thin on Southern Rhône and Italy beyond the basics — but for 39 labels, the hit rate is high.
Fifteen options by the glass is generous for a list this size, and the breakdown across sparkling, rosé, white, and red means you're not stuck with one token option per category. The Jacquart Brut Mosaique appearing by the glass is a legitimate upgrade from the usual bulk Prosecco pour, and the Dom de la Prebende Gamay is a smart, food-friendly choice for a kitchen this spice-forward.
Dom de la Pepiere La Pepie Muscadet 2018 — $37
A benchmark Muscadet from one of the Loire's most respected producers at a price that feels almost accidental. This is the bottle for oysters, shellfish, anything briny — and it almost certainly cost the restaurant half that. A genuine steal.
Forlorn Hope Queen of the Sierra Verdejo Blend 2016
Nobody orders this, which is a shame. Forlorn Hope is a cult California producer making weird, wonderful wines from obscure grapes — a Verdejo blend is exactly the kind of thing most diners skip for the Sancerre, but it's far more interesting and probably a better match for spicy, acidic food.
Duckhorn Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc 2019
Duckhorn is a fine producer but it's also the default choice for people who don't really want to think about it. At a list this thoughtful, you can do better — the Domaine Fouassier Sancerre is right there and it's a more interesting conversation.
Herman J. Wiemer Riesling Blend 2018 + Anything from the spicy shellfish section of the menu
Wiemer's Finger Lakes Riesling has the off-dry tension and bright acid to cut through heat and richness simultaneously. It's one of the few wine styles that can actually keep up with Cajun spice without getting steamrolled.
🎲 The Bottom Line
Bon Ton built a wine list that takes the food seriously — it's small, focused, and full of wines that actively work with a spicy, acidic, umami-heavy kitchen. If you show up expecting a standard restaurant list, you'll be pleasantly thrown off.
· Atlanta · French Brasserie
Brasserie Lundi's wine list does what it promises: it complements a French-leaning kitchen without getting in the way or gouging you. It's not a destination wine program, but it's an honest one — and in Atlanta, that counts for more than you'd think.

West Midtown · Atlanta · Alpine / European
Avize is doing something genuinely rare in Atlanta: building a short wine list with actual conviction, pointed straight at the corners of Europe that deserve more attention. If you eat here and don't order something you've never heard of, you're doing it wrong.

By George is a fine place to drink wine if you know what you're walking into — a curated-but-safe list built for a stylish crowd that wants rosé and bubbles without friction. Come for the Crémant and the Tavel; don't expect to find anything that'll make you rethink your relationship with wine.

Nine Mile Station isn't a destination for wine nerds, but it's a perfectly decent place to drink something cold and recognizable while the Atlanta skyline does the heavy lifting. Come for the view, drink the Crémant, ignore the Rombauer.

Vin Atl is doing something most Atlanta wine bars aren't: curating a short list with genuine intention instead of padding it with safe bets. At these prices, it's worth a stop even if you only come for one bottle.

St. Julep is a place to drink wine, not a place to drink well. If you're here for the skyline and the scene, pour the rosé and enjoy it — just don't come expecting the list to surprise you.
