You walk into a Healdsburg bistro expecting the usual Sonoma County greatest hits — and then the wine list drops a Raveneau Chablis and a Clos des Papes from 2005. This is not a normal neighborhood list. Someone here has taste, and they're not hiding it.
At roughly 95 labels, the list punches well above its size. Burgundy is the clear obsession — Thibault Liger-Belair's Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, Pousse d'Or's Clos de la Bousse d'Or Volnay, Raveneau in Chablis — this is a collector's shortlist, not a restaurant wine program. California gets its due with Ceritas Porter-Bass from the Sonoma Coast and Vérité's Bordeaux-style blend sitting alongside Cardinale Napa. The Loire shows up with Pascal Cotat's La Grande Côte Sancerre, which feels right at home on a bistro list. Bordeaux is represented but lightly — Pichon-Lalande 2014 does the heavy lifting. The gaps are real: not much Italy, no meaningful by-the-glass program apparent, and the list skews toward high-end trophies over everyday drinkers.
The by-the-glass program is largely a mystery — we couldn't confirm what's pouring, how many options exist, or how often they rotate. That's a miss for a bistro format where guests often want a glass with each course. If you're coming here, plan to split a bottle.
Pascal Cotat 'La Grande Côte,' Sancerre 2022 — null
Cotat is one of the most sought-after Sancerre producers alive, and his La Grande Côte is a benchmark bottle — if this is priced anywhere near fair, it's the move. Mineral-driven, tense, and built to go with anything from the sea or the farm. Seek it out.
Ceritas 'Porter-Bass,' Sonoma Coast 2015
Most people at a French-leaning bistro will reach for Burgundy, but Ceritas is one of the great small producers working the Sonoma Coast, and the Porter-Bass vineyard is special. A 2015 with some age on it from this producer is worth every dollar most diners will walk right past.
François Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru 'Montée de Tonnerre' 2013
At $800 a bottle, this is almost certainly a significant markup on one of the most coveted white Burgundy producers in the world. Raveneau at a restaurant is a love letter to the wine, but at this price point you're paying handsomely for the privilege. Unless this is a special occasion and you've budgeted for it, admire it on the list and move on.
Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2005 + Duck confit or any braised meat dish on the bistro menu
A 2005 Clos des Papes is deep, earthy, and layered with the kind of savory complexity that was made for slow-cooked duck or lamb. If the kitchen is running anything braised or roasted and rich, this is where the list rewards you.
🎲 The Bottom Line
Bistro Lagniappe is a Wild Card in the best sense — a small-town bistro hiding a wine list with genuine ambition and some serious French muscle. The markups keep it from being a Rager, but if you're in Healdsburg and want to drink something real, this list deserves your attention.

Hazel Hill is legitimately one of the better resort wine programs in California wine country — deep list, proper staff, and a setting that earns the splurge. The markups are real and the vibe is unabashedly luxe, but if you're already in Healdsburg, this is worth the stop.

Valette Wines at The Matheson is a single-producer wine bar that actually justifies the concept — the sourcing is legit, the prices are fair, and the Healdsburg plaza setting makes it an easy yes for a pre-dinner glass or two. Don't come expecting range; come expecting quality.
