Walking into a St. Regis lounge, you half-expect the wine list to be a flex — and this one partially delivers. Nineteen labels isn't deep, but the curation shows someone was paying attention. It's not a list built for wine nerds; it's built for people who want a nice glass and won't feel cheated.
The Champagne section punches hardest — Veuve Clicquot, Krug Grand Cuvée 171ème Édition, and Dom Pérignon 2015 on a single list signals serious intent at the top end. The whites are respectable: Weingut Seehof Riesling and Gomez y Rial Albariño give international range, while Paul Hobbs CrossBarn Chardonnay anchors the California crowd. Reds are leaner — Boscarelli Rosso di Montalcino is the clear standout, and the Leviathan Red Blend covers the power-drinker crowd. What's missing is any natural wine presence, domestic Pinot beyond Elizabeth Chambers, and meaningful depth south of the premium tier.

Boscarelli Sangiovese Rosso di Montalcino
Everyone at the next table is ordering Cabernet. You should be drinking this. Boscarelli is a serious Tuscan producer, and a Rosso di Montalcino in a cocktail lounge context is an unexpected find — earthy, structured, and miles more interesting than the Leviathan sitting next to it on the list.
Teeter-Totter Cabernet Sauvignon
It's a perfectly fine California Cab, but in a lounge charging St. Regis prices, you're paying a hotel premium on a label that doesn't justify it. The Ink Grade is the better Cab call if you're committed to the varietal.
Gomez y Rial Albariño + Small plates / seafood bites
Albariño's briny, citrus-driven character is made for light seafood and savory small plates — the kind of thing a cocktail lounge menu leans on. It cuts through richness and keeps things lively across multiple rounds.
The Bottom Line
The Garden Room isn't a wine destination, but it's a respectable place to drink if you know what to order. Come for the bubbles, the Boscarelli, or the Riesling — and manage your expectations on the markup.
