Seventeen labels. At a St. Regis. Let that sink in. You're sitting in one of Atlanta's most storied luxury hotel dining rooms and the wine list fits on a single laminated page — the kind of list a banquet manager assembled in a hurry and nobody has revisited since.
The list hits every predictable mark: Whispering Angel for the rosé crowd, a Napa Cab or two (Scattered Peaks and Elyse), a Russian River Pinot from EnRoute, and a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc to round things out. There's a Champagne section padded with Charles Heidsieck, Laurent-Perrier Rosé, and the suspiciously generic Pierre Cellier Prestige Brut — a brand you won't find anyone raving about anywhere. The one flash of actual interest is Les Boursicottes Sancerre from the Loire, which feels like it wandered in from a better list. Otherwise, this reads like someone filtered Wine.com by 'most popular' and called it a day.
By-the-glass options aren't published, which at a hotel restaurant usually means the pours come from whatever bottles the bar opened and forgot to finish. Given the list is only 17 labels deep, we wouldn't expect much rotation or excitement. If you're here, order the Champagne and keep it moving.
Les Boursicottes Sancerre, Loire Valley — Unknown
The only wine on this list with a pulse. Sancerre is Sancerre — crisp, mineral, food-friendly — and this producer delivers the real thing. If the markup isn't completely egregious, it's the most defensible pour on the menu.
Chehalem Pinot Gris, Willamette Valley
Chehalem is a quietly serious Oregon producer, and their Pinot Gris is textured and food-friendly in a way most people don't expect. It's easy to scroll past in favor of the Whispering Angel, but don't.
Pierre Cellier Prestige Brut, Champagne
This is filler Champagne — a négociant brand with zero name recognition that exists to justify a bubbly line item on hotel wine lists. At St. Regis prices, you're paying for the room, not the wine. Spend up for the Charles Heidsieck or skip it entirely.
EnRoute Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley + Whatever the seasonal fish is on the menu
EnRoute makes a generous, silky Russian River Pinot that's rich enough to hold its own but won't steamroll a delicate fish preparation. It's the most versatile red on a short list, and it earns its place here.
The Bottom Line
Astor Court is a beautiful room attached to a wine list that stopped trying. Unless you're expensing it or you're here for the Sancerre, the bar program will treat you better than the wine list will.

Sushi By Bou is clearly here to serve great fish — and the wine list confirms that wine is very much an afterthought. Order the Dom if you're feeling flush or the Hampton Water if you're being sensible, and let the food do the heavy lifting.

Rose & Rye isn't a destination for wine nerds, but it's a perfectly functional list for a date night where the wine is supporting the evening, not headlining it. Order the Crémant, avoid the Caymus markup, and you'll do just fine.

Hal's delivers a competent, Napa-forward bottle list that does exactly what a steakhouse wine program is supposed to do — just without much surprise or value mercy. Send a friend here if they want a reliable big-red experience; warn them to leave the credit card breathing room.

SouthernNational is doing something genuinely unusual — running a tight, Europe-forward wine list inside a Southern kitchen, and mostly pulling it off. If you're tired of the same Sonoma Pinot and overpriced Malbec at every restaurant in town, this list is worth your attention.

Rose Tavern is a perfectly pleasant place to drink wine if you're already staying at The Lake House — the setting does a lot of the work. But if you're driving in specifically for the wine list, you'd do better hitting a dedicated Finger Lakes tasting room down the road.

Rose Tavern isn't trying to be a destination wine bar, but it's got the bones of one — a sommelier, a thoughtful local-first list, and a glass program that lets you actually explore it. Markups on the name brands are punishing, but stick to the Finger Lakes section and you're drinking well at a lake view that most wine lists couldn't dream of.
