You don't expect to flip open a list with Gaja Barbaresco and Antinori Tignanello at a farmhouse-chic spot on Fort Salonga Road in Northport. But here we are. The Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence stamp on the cover isn't just decoration โ this is a list someone built with intention.
The 250-400 bottle range leans hard into California, France, and Italy, which tracks with the crowd here but still delivers real depth. You've got Stag's Leap and Silver Oak Alexander Valley holding down the Napa end, Louis Jadot anchoring France, and then Gaja and Tignanello showing up like they crashed a Long Island dinner party. The Italian contingent in particular is punching well above the zip code. Where the list loses points is in the mid-tier โ it's weighted toward brand names like Meiomi and Rombauer that feel more like crowd management than curation.
Somewhere between 12 and 20 pours by the glass, priced $12โ$18, which is reasonable for this part of Long Island. The range likely pulls from the California-heavy hits on the bottle list, so expect familiar names rather than anything that'll make you text your wine group. Rotation doesn't appear to be a priority here โ this reads as a set-and-forget program.
Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon โ $45โ$60 range
Jordan is a reliable, food-friendly Sonoma Cab that consistently overdelivers for its price point. Next to the bigger Napa names on this list, it's the smart order alongside one of Arlo's dry-aged steaks โ all the structure you want without the sticker shock.
Antinori Tignanello
Most tables at a place like this are ordering Caymus or Rombauer on autopilot. Tignanello โ a Super Tuscan blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc โ is sitting here largely ignored, and it's one of Italy's benchmark bottles. If you're splitting something special, this is it.
Meiomi Pinot Noir
It's a $15 bottle at your local grocery store. Whatever they're charging here, you're paying for the convenience of not stopping at Total Wine on the way over. There's real Pinot on this list โ spend accordingly.
Gaja Barbaresco + Dry-aged steak
Barbaresco is built for red meat โ high acid, firm tannins, earthy complexity. Against a properly aged, well-seasoned dry-aged steak, it's one of the classic combinations in Italian wine culture. The fact that Gaja's version is available here in Northport is genuinely surprising.
๐ฒ The Bottom Line
Arlo is a legitimate wine destination hiding inside a neighborhood steakhouse on the North Shore โ the Italian and California selections alone justify the trip. The markup stings and there's no dedicated wine pro steering the ship, but the bones of this list are too good to ignore.

The Heathman isn't going to make you rethink your relationship with wine, but it's a genuinely decent hotel list anchored by wines worth drinking โ and the Monday/Wednesday half-price bottle deal turns a steep markup into something actually worth your time. Show up on a deal night, order the Col Solare, and you'll leave happy.

RH Rooftop is a great place to drink wine you already know in a room that photographs extremely well โ just don't come expecting to discover anything. If you're a guest who wants reliability and a gorgeous sunset view, this delivers; if you're chasing depth or value, this list isn't going to find you.

Table 26 punches above its neighborhood weight with a list that has real ambition and a happy hour program that's one of the best deals in South Florida. The markup on the trophy tier is aggressive, but if you drink smart โ and especially if you show up before 6 PM โ this place absolutely delivers.
