Wingman Metrics
The wine list here is a single page — nine bottles, all Washington State — and honestly, that clarity is kind of refreshing. You're not here to agonize over a leather-bound tome; you're here to eat Dungeness crab with Budd Inlet out the window. The list knows what it is and doesn't pretend otherwise.
Every bottle on this list comes from Washington, which is either a principled local-first stance or just the path of least resistance — we'll be generous and call it both. The lineup hits the major bases: Chateau Ste Michelle Riesling for the classicists, Long Shadows Anthony's Chardonnay for the oaky crowd, and Sparkman Cellars representing the more serious side of Washington winemaking. There's no Burgundy deep cut or esoteric natural wine moment here, but Dusted Valley Boomtown Syrah showing up on a waterfront seafood list is a small, appreciated swing toward something with actual character. The gaps are real — no Rosé, no sparkling, one Pinot Noir — but what's here is curated with at least some intention.
All nine bottles pour by the glass, which means the entire list is accessible without committing to a full bottle — a genuinely smart call for a casual waterfront lunch crowd. Prices run $7.50 to $9.50 a glass, which in 2024 restaurant math is legitimately reasonable. There's no rotating program or reserve pours to speak of, but you won't feel gouged on the way out.
R. Stuart Big Fire Pinot Noir — $9.50
R. Stuart is an Oregon producer with real credibility, and getting Big Fire by the glass at $9.50 is a fair deal. It's a versatile red that holds up next to richer seafood preparations without bullying them.
Dusted Valley Boomtown Syrah
Most people at a waterfront seafood spot order white and call it a day — but Boomtown Syrah from Dusted Valley is a legitimate Walla Walla-adjacent red with more depth than its casual name suggests. Most tables walk right past it.
Red Diamond Merlot
Red Diamond is a high-volume, grocery-tier brand that doesn't belong on the same list as Sparkman and Long Shadows. Nothing offensive about it, but nothing interesting either — and there are better options at the same price point right next to it.
Sparkman Cellars 'Pearl' Sauvignon Blanc + Dungeness Crab
Sparkman's 'Pearl' is bright and herbaceous with enough acidity to cut through the richness of Dungeness crab without steamrolling the sweetness of the meat. It's a natural match, and both happen to be Pacific Northwest originals.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Anthony's HomePort Olympia isn't trying to be a wine destination and it doesn't need to be — it's a dependable, locally-focused list that does the job without embarrassing itself. If you're eating well-sourced Northwest seafood on the water, these wines will get you there.
Downtown · Olympia · Pacific Northwest brasserie / American
Cascadia Grill isn't a wine destination, but it's a fair and functional list that won't leave you feeling ripped off or bored — and in downtown Olympia, that's more than enough to earn a return visit. Take a Washington bottle, order the salmon, and enjoy the Bigfoot decor.

Fujiyama is a fun night out — but the wine list is an obligation, not an attraction. Stick to sake or cocktails and save your wine curiosity for somewhere that returns the favor.

Percival Landing / Waterfront · Olympia · Seafood-focused American
Budd Bay Café is not a wine destination, but it's a perfectly functional place to drink a decent glass of Washington white while watching boats drift across Budd Inlet. Send your friends here for the view and the chowder — just steer them toward the Barnard Griffin and away from the Sutter Home.

Ralph's Thriftway shouldn't be this good at wine, and that's exactly why it earns the Wild Card. If you're in Olympia and need a bottle — or ten — skip the chain stores and come here first.

Capitol Lake / Westside · Olympia · Wine Bar / Cocktail Lounge
Swing's upstairs lounge is the kind of place that surprises you — a Cayuse Cailloux and a Clos de Lambrays Grand Cru don't belong on a list this size in a city this small, and yet there they are. Markups push steep on the top shelf, but there's enough here to make it worth the trip if you know where to look.

Iron Rabbit isn't a wine destination, but it's a neighborhood bar that actually tried — and in Olympia's Westside, that matters. If you're already here for dinner, you'll drink well without a second thought.

Broad Creek / Skull Creek · Hilton Head Island · Seafood
Skull Creek Boathouse is not a wine destination, and it doesn't try to be — the sunset over the creek is doing the heavy lifting. But the list is priced fairly, the glass selection is wide enough to find something that works, and for a high-volume waterfront spot, that's honestly enough.

Poseidon isn't a wine destination, but it's a competent coastal list that gets the job done if you order strategically. Stick to Oregon and Italy, dodge the Merryvale, and you'll drink well enough to enjoy that waterfront view.

Red Lobster's wine list is a chain afterthought with steep markups on brands you could grab at any gas station in Grand Junction. Skip the wine, order a cocktail, and save your wine budget for somewhere that actually tried.
