The wine list at 1700 Degrees reads like a well-dressed hotel steakhouse — familiar names, no surprises, everything in its proper place. It's the kind of list that reassures rather than excites, which is fine if you're here for the tomahawk and not the Barolo. About 40 labels isn't deep, but it covers the bases without embarrassing anyone.
California does the heavy lifting here, with Decoy, Bonanza by Caymus, and The Federalist anchoring the red side of the list. Oregon sneaks in with the Siduri Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, which is a welcome detour. Italy shows up in a few interesting spots — the Fattoria di Magliano Vermentino and the Valpolicella Cesari Mara Superiore hint that someone had at least a moment of ambition when building this list. The gaps are real though: no Malbec, no Syrah, no domestic Cab worth getting excited about beyond the Bonanza.
Fourteen by-the-glass options is a respectable number for a hotel steakhouse, running $6 to $15 a pour. The range covers bubbles (Avissi Prosecco), whites (Decoy Chardonnay, Cloudfall Sauvignon Blanc, Salmon Run Riesling), and enough reds to navigate a steak dinner without defaulting to water. Rotation appears nonexistent — this looks like a set-it-and-forget-it BTG program.
Siduri Willamette Valley Pinot Noir — $14/glass
Siduri consistently punches above its weight in Willamette Pinot, and it's the one pour on this list that actually makes sense next to a lighter cut or a piece of salmon. It's the most thoughtful option in the glass lineup.
Fattoria di Magliano Vermentino
Most people are going to sleepwalk past this and order the Chardonnay. Don't. The Magliano Vermentino from coastal Tuscany brings a briny, herbal edge that most of the whites on this list can't touch — and it's genuinely interesting with the seafood entrées.
CMS Red Blend
At $60/bottle or $15/glass, the CMS Red Blend from Hedges is a solid everyday wine — but it's an everyday wine priced like a special occasion. You can find this at retail for well under $20. The markup here is hard to justify when the Bonanza by Caymus exists at a similar price point with more recognizable pedigree.
Barolo Priore + Dry-aged prime beef steak
Barolo and dry-aged beef is one of those classic combos that exists for a reason — the tannin structure and earthy depth of the Nebbiolo cut right through the fat and amplify the funk of the dry-age. At $55/bottle it's not cheap, but it's the most correct bottle on the list for what this restaurant is actually built around.

1700 Degrees is a competent hotel steakhouse wine list — safe, somewhat steep, and unlikely to thrill anyone who cares deeply about what's in their glass. But if you're here for the beef and want something that won't embarrass the meal, it gets the job done.

Bonefish Grill Harrisburg is a dependable dinner out, not a wine destination — the list is corporate-safe, the markups are real, and nobody behind the bar is losing sleep over vintage variation. Come for the seafood, pick something crisp and white, and set your expectations accordingly.

The Bread Box is clearly here for the bread, the sandwiches, and the café experience — and that's totally fine. The wine list is an afterthought dressed up in familiar labels with markups that don't reward you for paying attention. Stick to the food, order a coffee, and save the wine for dinner somewhere else.

Millworks is a brewery first and a wine destination second, but the wine list punches well above what you'd expect from a place whose tap list is the main event. Come for the beer, stay for a Grüner or a Galen Glen — and tell your wine-skeptic friends it's a brewery so they'll actually show up.

Cork & Fork is doing something genuinely worthwhile in a city where the wine bar concept hasn't exactly taken hold — the list is real, the by-the-glass program is strong, and there are bottles here worth seeking out. Send a friend here if they want something better than a chain restaurant wine list; just temper expectations on staff deep-cuts and don't blow your budget on the Veuve.
