Tuesday Bottles Make This List Worth It

Wingman Metrics
For Wichita, this list punches above its weight. You're looking at 80-plus labels spanning Southern France, Italy, Spain, California, and New Zealand — a genuine effort for a lively bistro that also happens to have a packed patio and a wood-fired oven going. It's not trying to be a wine bar, but it's clearly not treating wine as an afterthought either.
The list leans into familiar, crowd-friendly territory — Kim Crawford, Santa Margherita, Meiomi — but that's not necessarily a knock when the execution is honest and the prices stay reasonable. Whispering Angel shows up for rosé fans, and Frog's Leap Zinfandel is a genuinely solid California pick that adds some character beyond the usual suspects. The Southern France and Italian sections feel the most thought-out, which makes sense given the Mediterranean menu. There are gaps — don't come here looking for Burgundy depth or anything remotely obscure — but as a bistro list built for actual guests eating lamb chops and pizza, it works.
Somewhere between 12 and 18 pours by the glass, priced $9–$16, which is firmly in the reasonable-for-a-casual-bistro zone. The range covers white, red, and rosé without making you feel like you're stuck with just the house pour or nothing. We'd like to see more rotation to keep regulars engaged, but what's here is serviceable and approachable.
Frog's Leap Zinfandel — $35–$50 estimated bottle
Frog's Leap is a Napa producer with actual credibility, and Zinfandel at this price tier in a restaurant context is often a steal compared to the Cabernet markups around it. It's the bottle on this list that rewards the slightly adventurous diner.
Whispering Angel Rosé
Yes, it's everywhere. But it's everywhere for a reason, and at a Wichita bistro with a big patio, an honest pour of Whispering Angel in the right season is exactly right. Most people here will default to red or white and overlook it — don't.
Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio
A perfectly fine wine that has been coasting on its reputation for 30 years. At restaurant markup, you're paying a brand premium for something neutral and forgettable. Plenty of better options on this list for the same or less.
Frog's Leap Zinfandel + Lamb Chops
Zinfandel's dark fruit and peppery backbone are built for lamb. Frog's Leap keeps things earthier and more restrained than a lot of California Zin, which means it doesn't bully the meat — it actually lets the lamb flavor come through.
Tuesday — Half price on all wine bottles under $85 from the wine cellar every Tuesday. One of the better standing wine deals in Wichita — worth planning around.
✔️ The Bottom Line
YaYa's isn't a destination wine list, but it's a fair, functional one — and Tuesday half-price bottles under $85 make it legitimately one of the better midweek wine deals in Wichita. Come for the lamb chops, stay for the deal.

Prost isn't a wine destination — it's a biergarten that respects its theme enough to put a coherent German wine list on the table. The Thirsty Thursday bottle deal is legitimately good, and if you show up on the right night with the right dish, you'll leave happier than you expected.

Wasabi Hinkaku isn't a wine destination, but it doesn't pretend to be — and the pricing is honest enough to earn some respect. Show up on a Tuesday when the wine chiller special is running and you've got yourself a solid weeknight deal.

BJ's is a beer restaurant with a wine list that exists so people don't feel left out. If you're here for the Pizookie and a cold craft brew, you've made the right call — but if wine is your priority, East Wichita has better options.

We wouldn't send a friend here for the wine — we'd send them to a grocery store if Barefoot is the goal. Order a cocktail, enjoy the Riblets, and accept the wine list for what it is: corporate wallpaper.
