The wine list at River Concourse reads like it was ordered from a corporate catalog in 2018 and nobody's looked at it since. This is resort wine programming at its most forgettable—safe brands at inflated prices for guests who are focused on their golf game, not their glass.
The selection leans heavily on household names that require zero explanation: your Kendall-Jacksons, your Ruffinos, your La Croix Rosés. California dominates with predictable Napa Cabs in the $80-120 range that you could find for $35 at Total Wine. There's a token Malbec, a Pinot Grigio, and maybe a Sancerre if you're lucky, but nothing that suggests anyone with wine knowledge had a hand in building this list. It's the kind of selection designed to offend nobody and excite nobody.
By-the-glass pours follow the same playbook: six or seven options that cover the basics without taking any risks. Expect a buttery Chardonnay, a jammy Cab, and a bone-dry Pinot Grigio, all poured into generic stemware. Rotation is theoretical at best—these bottles are staples that never leave the lineup. Prices hover around $12-16 per glass, which feels steep when you realize you're drinking the same wines they serve at airport bars.
J. Lohr Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon — $48
Reliable Paso Robles Cab that's actually drinkable, though still marked up 3x retail
Imagery Malbec
If they stock it, this is a solid expression from a decent California producer that most people skip for Argentina
Ruffino Chianti
Mass-market Italian at $45+ when you can buy it at Kroger for $12—this is the resort tax in action
Hess Select Monterey Chardonnay + Grilled Shrimp
Coastal Chard with enough acid to cut through butter sauce without competing with the seafood
❌ The Bottom Line
This is wine for people who aren't thinking about wine—you're here for the resort amenities and the Savannah River views. If wine matters to you, bring a bottle and pray they have corkage, or head back across the river to the historic district where actual wine programs exist.

The 1540 Room is a dependable, well-curated list in one of Savannah's most atmospheric dining rooms — you won't find anything to argue with, but you won't find anything to be shocked by either. Send your friends here when they want a great bottle with a great meal and zero drama.

The Grey proves that a curated, adventurous wine list can be just as impressive as a 700-bottle cellar. James Beard Outstanding Chef Mashama Bailey's food demands a wine program that matches its ambition, and the sommelier team delivers — with indigenous varietals, natural wines, and by-the-glass pours you won't find anywhere else in the Southeast. Come for the food, stay for the wine education you didn't know you needed.

Common Thread is Savannah's rising wine sleeper. Libby Burk is building one of the most interesting sommelier-driven programs in the Southeast — indigenous varietals, natural wines, and a genuine passion for making wine accessible and fun. Not as deep as Common's 710-bottle cathedral, not as famous as The Grey's James Beard pedigree, but arguably the most exciting wine program in town for anyone who wants to learn something new every visit.

Common isn't just the best wine program in Savannah — it's one of the best in the Southeast. 710 selections including first-growth Bordeaux verticals, Grand Cru Burgundy, and Napa trophy wines, backed by a three-sommelier team. The $25 corkage fee is fair if you bring something the list doesn't cover, but good luck finding a gap. Plan a trip around this one.

Pacifico won't change your wine life, but it won't ruin your dinner either. If you're here for the steaks and want a safe Italian red, you'll be fine. Just don't expect value or adventure.
