Wingman Metrics
You pull up to Weisinger's and immediately understand you're not in Napa — this is scrappier, more personal, and honestly more interesting for it. The tasting room has that rare quality of feeling both polished and genuinely welcoming, with a patio that makes you want to cancel your afternoon plans. The list is tight, but every bottle on it came from the ground you're sitting on, which is either charming or limiting depending on your mood.
The entire list is estate-grown Rogue Valley, which means you're not getting a world tour — you're getting a deep, focused look at what Southern Oregon can actually do. Weisinger's leans into Bordeaux varieties and Mediterranean grapes, which is smart given the region's warm days and cool nights. The Mescolare, a Bordeaux-style red blend, is the flagship and the most ambitious thing on the list. The Tempranillo is a quiet nod to Southern Oregon's growing identity as a place that can pull off Spanish varieties, which remains underappreciated nationally.
Six to ten pours on any given visit, all estate wines, all priced in the $10–$20 range. There's no rotating guest list here — it's Weisinger's top to bottom, which works because the quality is consistent enough to sustain the format. If you're the type who needs a Grüner option or a Beaujolais Villages to keep you interested, this isn't your room.
Weisinger Family Winery Viognier — $15
Viognier from the Rogue Valley is genuinely underpriced relative to what you'd pay for comparable aromatics out of the Rhône or even Central Coast California. At glass pour prices in the mid-teens, this is a steal for anyone paying attention.
Weisinger Family Winery Tempranillo
Most people come here for the Bordeaux-style stuff and walk right past the Tempranillo. That's a mistake. Southern Oregon Tempranillo has real grip and structure, and Weisinger's version is one of the better arguments for why this grape belongs in the Pacific Northwest conversation.
Weisinger Family Winery Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon is the safe, recognizable order — and probably the least interesting thing to drink here. If you came to Weisinger's and ordered the Cab, you could have done that at any steakhouse. The estate blends and the Spanish varieties are the actual story.
Weisinger Family Winery Mescolare + Cheese and charcuterie board
The Mescolare is structured enough to cut through a fatty charcuterie spread but has enough fruit to stay friendly with aged cheeses. It's the kind of red blend that was basically designed for a board situation — and Weisinger's kitchen knows it.

If you're passing through Ashland or making the Shakespeare pilgrimage, Weisinger's is the wine stop worth building your afternoon around. It won't challenge your cellar knowledge, but it will remind you that Southern Oregon is doing something real.
