Wingman Metrics
Walk into Vino Sabor on Lady Street and the vibe does the talking before the list does. It's dim, polished, and clearly trying to be something Columbia hasn't really had before — a proper wine lounge that doesn't feel like a chain steakhouse or a backyard cookout. The atmosphere earns points before you've touched the menu.
The list leans Italian, which is a real editorial choice — and we respect it. Rather than casting a wide net across every major wine region on earth, Vino Sabor appears to curate a focused selection of boutique bottles that you won't find at your average grocery store wine aisle. The tradeoff is that range-seekers who want a deep Burgundy bench or a wall of California Cabs may feel underserved. But if you're in the mood to let someone else make an interesting call for you, this is the right room for it.
Specific by-the-glass offerings weren't available to us at time of review, but the wine-bar format strongly suggests a rotating glass program is central to the experience. We'd expect Italian-forward pours alongside a few globetrotting selections to round things out. Worth asking your server what's open — that's usually where the good stuff hides.
The Bottom Line
Vino Sabor is betting that Downtown Columbia is ready for a real wine bar, not just wine at a bar — and based on the vibe, they might be right. We'd go back with a curiosity about Italian wine and an open mind; just don't come expecting a deep cellar or a Burgundy nerd behind the counter.
· Columbia · New American / Southern
Terra keeps it simple with an all-by-the-glass format, fair pricing, and a few genuinely interesting picks tucked inside a short list. It won't satisfy anyone looking for a deep cellar dive, but it absolutely does the job for a New American dinner in Columbia.

· Columbia · Spanish-inspired / tapas
This is a wine list built for people who aren't really thinking about wine, and honestly that might be the point. If you're serious about drinking well with your tapas, order a cocktail and revisit the wine program if they ever add a Txakoli or a Garnacha.

Forest Acres · Columbia · Contemporary American Bistro with Southern Influences
Tombo Grille isn't going to win any points for boldness, but it delivers exactly what Forest Acres wants: familiar wines, fair-enough execution, and a menu worth eating. Send a friend here for a reliable dinner out — just temper expectations if they're hoping to discover something new.

Irmo / Northwest Columbia · Columbia · Contemporary American-Italian
Travinia is a reliable neighborhood wine bar that gets the basics right — solid selection, good by-the-glass volume, food-friendly pours — without ever swinging for the fences. Send your friends here for a comfortable bottle with dinner, not for a wine discovery experience.

Sandhill · Columbia · Contemporary American-Italian
Travinia Sandhill is a reliable wine bar in a market that doesn't have many — not adventurous, not cheap, but consistent enough that you won't regret the reservation. Just steer clear of the obvious traps and you'll have a decent night.

Unknown · Columbia · Seafood
The Bluefish plays it safe and the pricing reflects more confidence than the list deserves, but the core selection is competent enough for a solid seafood dinner with the right pour. Stick to the whites, ask about the Albariño, and don't let anyone talk you into a $78 Cakebread.

· Roswell · Wine Bar
Vin 25 is doing something genuinely smart in Roswell: a tight, well-chosen list where every bottle is open for glass pours at fair prices. It's not deep, but it's honest — and in a suburb where most wine lists read like an airport menu, that counts for a lot.

· Plano · Wine Bar
Corner Wines is a small list doing big things, especially if Greek varietals are your thing or you've been wanting to get into them. The value is real, the curation is genuine, and in Plano of all places, that earns some serious points.
