Walking into a Korean taco and street corn spot in Columbus, Georgia, you don't expect a 72-label wine list anchored by a serious Champagne program. But here we are. Vertigo is swinging for something way above its weight class, and mostly landing it.
The list is genuinely surprising — a deep Champagne section with names like Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve, Pertois-Moriset Les Quatre Terroirs Grand Cru, and Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosée Brut sitting next to Canadian bottles from Tawse and Norman Hardie. There's even a non-alcoholic option (Leitz Eins-Zwei-Zero) and a Québec rosé from Rivière du Chêne, which you absolutely do not see on menus in this part of Georgia. The white wine section leans toward clean, food-friendly picks — the David Moreno Blanco and Mission Hill Reserve Chardonnay fill that role well. Reds aren't as well-represented in the sourced data, which suggests the list skews sparkly and white-forward, fitting for the light, punchy food.
Twenty-three by-the-glass options at $12–$21 is a strong pour program for a casual uptown spot. The Leitz Eins-Zwei-Zero at $12 a glass is a smart low-ABV anchor, and the range gives anyone at the table something to work with. We'd love to see more rotation, but what's here is accessible without being lazy.
Rivière du Chêne Le rosé de Gabrielle — $45
A Québec rosé at the entry price point of the bottle list — this is the unexpected gem that drinks far more interesting than its position on the menu would suggest. Refreshing, slightly off the beaten path, and priced to actually order a second bottle.
Norman Hardie Cuvée Calcaire
Most tables here are ordering Champagne or a crowd-pleasing rosé. Meanwhile, this Prince Edward County white from one of Canada's most respected producers sits quietly at $76. It's a serious, terroir-driven bottle that rewards anyone who actually reads past the bubbles section.
Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosée Brut
At $200 a bottle, you're paying a significant premium for a label that moves on name recognition alone. The Devaux Cœur des Bar Cuvée Rosée Brut at $130 is a more interesting bottle at a meaningfully lower price. Save the Laurent-Perrier markup for a restaurant that's doing something special to earn it.
Tawse Riesling + Korean tacos
The Niagara Peninsula Riesling from Tawse has the acidity and slight residual sweetness to cut through the heat and umami of the Korean taco fillings without competing with them. It's the kind of pairing that makes the food taste better and the wine taste more interesting — exactly what you want at $63 a bottle.
The Bottom Line
Vertigo shouldn't have a wine list this interesting — and that's the whole point. If you're anywhere near Columbus, Georgia and care even a little about what's in your glass, this place is worth the detour.

Eighteen85 is a place to drink wine, not to drink well. Come for the view, order something cold, and set your expectations accordingly — the list won't surprise you, but at least it won't bankrupt you either.

For Columbus, Georgia, The Animal Farm's wine list is a genuine Wild Card — small but considered, fairly priced, and stocked with producers most local restaurants haven't heard of. We'd absolutely send a friend here with instructions to start with the Riesling and work their way through the whites.

Red Lobster 13th St. is not a wine destination — it's a seafood chain where wine exists because a menu has to have one. Order the Riesling with your lobster tail, enjoy the Cheddar Bay Biscuits, and make your peace with it.

Denim & Oak isn't going to make anyone's wine pilgrimage list, but for Columbus, Georgia, it's a legitimately decent place to drink — fair prices, a deep BTG program, and Wine Down Wednesday as a reason to come back. Just steer clear of the Concha y Toro and head straight for the Orin Swift or the Oregon section.
