Wingman Metrics
You're thirty stories up with Milwaukee sprawling out below you, and the wine list matches the vibe: approachable, inoffensive, easy to navigate. It's the kind of list that was designed so nobody at the table argues about what to order — which is either a feature or a bug depending on who you're drinking with. No deep cuts, no curveballs, just familiar names doing their thing.
The list leans on crowd-tested international producers — Italian whites, California Chardonnay, New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, a German Riesling thrown in for the adventurous. Scarpetta, Daou, Love Block, Clean Slate: these are wines you've seen before, probably at a dozen other restaurants, and that's sort of the point. There's no real regional depth or discovery happening here — it reads less like a curated list and more like a distributor's greatest hits package. The gaps are obvious: no Pinot Noir, no Burgundy, nothing remotely off the beaten path.
Ten-plus options by the glass is a solid count for a rooftop spot, and the $14–$16 price point is genuinely reasonable for downtown Milwaukee hotel real estate. The range covers sparkling (Avissi Prosecco, Gloria Ferrer Blanc de Blancs, Chandon Rosé), whites, and presumably a few reds — though rotation appears minimal and the list feels like it hasn't changed much since opening day.
Scarpetta Pinot Grigio — $14/glass
Retails for $15 a bottle, so getting it by the glass at $14 is borderline absurd value. It's not the most complex Pinot Grigio on the planet, but it's clean, refreshing, and practically costs nothing for a rooftop pour with those views.
Clean Slate Riesling, Rheingau, Germany
Most people at a rooftop bar aren't ordering Riesling, which means this one gets ignored. That's a mistake. Rheingau Riesling has real structure and lift — it's the best white wine on this list by a stretch, and it'll hold up better than the Pinot Grigio on a warm night.
Avissi Prosecco
Avissi is ubiquitous grocery store Prosecco. It's fine, but when Gloria Ferrer Blanc de Blancs is sitting right next to it, there's no reason to settle. Spend the same money and drink something with a little more to say.
Love Block Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, NZ + Rooftop appetizers or light bites
Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc was built for exactly this kind of occasion — bright acidity, citrus and herb-forward, cuts through anything creamy or fried. On a rooftop in summer with whatever the kitchen is sending out, it's the easiest call on the menu.
✔️ The Bottom Line
The Outsider is a reliable rooftop pour — fair prices, familiar wines, zero friction. Don't come here expecting to discover your new favorite producer, but do come knowing you won't get gouged for the privilege of drinking with that skyline behind you.
Downtown · Milwaukee · Brazilian Steakhouse
Rodizio Grill Milwaukee is a genuinely fun night out if you're there for the meat and the spectacle — but the wine list is coasting on the restaurant's momentum rather than adding anything to it. Order the Gaucho Club, enjoy the picanha, and save your serious wine budget for somewhere else.

Riverwalk · Milwaukee · Japanese sushi and Asian fusion
Screaming Tuna isn't a wine destination, but it's a sushi spot with a wine list that actually respects the food it's serving — and in Milwaukee, that's worth calling out. Take a chance on the Alsatian whites or the sake program and you'll leave happy.

Downtown · Milwaukee · Seafood-focused Contemporary American
Third Coast Provisions has a genuinely thoughtful wine list for a city that doesn't always demand one — the Burgundy focus is earned, the staff knows what they're doing, and the seafood menu gives those whites every opportunity to shine. The markup keeps it from being a destination for wine alone, but if you're already here for the food, you're in good hands.

Ca'Lucchenzo is the kind of place that makes you wonder why every Italian restaurant doesn't just commit to Italy this hard on the wine side. It's not a deep cellar, but it's a focused, honest list that actually fits the food — send your friends here and tell them to skip the cocktail.
