Wingman Metrics
Walking into a bourbon-forward speakeasy bar in West Fargo and finding 10-plus wines by the glass is a small surprise. The list isn't trying to reinvent anything β it's crowd-friendly and approachable, which honestly fits the room. Don't come here expecting a deep cellar, but don't write it off either.
The Noble Hare leans hard on California Cabernet β Liberty School, Smith & Hook, Quilt, Faust, and The Seventy Five WC all share the same corner of the list, which starts to feel like a Cab convention. There's a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc two-way with The Crossings and Frenzy Marlborough, plus a couple of Italian whites in Santa Margherita and Ruffino Lumina. The lone bright spot for range is the Willamette Valley Pinot Gris, which signals someone on staff at least glanced beyond California. Argentina shows up via Dona Paula Malbec, rounding out a list that's safe but not sloppy.
With 10 to 15 options by the glass at $8 to $18, the program punches above its weight for a neighborhood bar. The glass range covers reds, whites, and a couple of mid-range splurges β Faust at the top end is the ambition play. Rotation doesn't appear to be a priority, so what you see is likely what you'll always get.
Willamette Valley Pinot Gris β $10
Oregon Pinot Gris at a bourbon bar in West Fargo is genuinely unexpected. It's a solid producer and a refreshing break from the Sauvignon Blanc default β order this before someone else figures out it's here.
Frenzy Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough
Most people at a bar like this reach for a Cab or skip wine entirely. Frenzy Marlborough is punchy, high-acid, and drinks fast β it's the sleeper pick on a list that otherwise plays it safe.
Quilt Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Quilt is a fine wine, but it's marketed at a premium and the markups on Napa Cab at casual bars rarely make sense. With Faust on the same list, you're paying for label recognition over actual value β go up or go down, but don't get stuck in the middle.
Dona Paula Estate Malbec Argentina + Meat and Cheese Plate
Argentine Malbec was basically designed for a charcuterie situation β the dark fruit and soft tannins cut through cured meat fat and stand up to aged cheese without bulldozing anything on the board.
π² The Bottom Line
The Noble Hare is a bourbon bar that actually respects wine enough to pour it properly, and that alone earns it some credit in West Fargo. It's not a destination for wine lovers, but it's a solid call if you want a glass that isn't a house pour mystery.
South Fargo Β· Fargo Β· Italian-American Chain
Come for the breadsticks, stay for the pasta, but don't come for the wine. Olive Garden Fargo's list is exactly what you'd expect from a national chain that treats wine as a revenue line, not a program β and in Fargo, you deserve better options.

LongHorn West Fargo isn't a wine destination, and it's not trying to be β but the pricing is fair, the by-the-glass range is workable, and you won't be stuck drinking bad wine with a good steak. Send a friend here for the ribeye; just remind them to skip the KJ and order the Cab.

Come for the margaritas, the table-side guac, and the fajitas β the wine list is not the reason to be here. If your group insists on wine, Austin Hope is the one pick worth your time; everything else is just filler.

Mangata is the kind of place that shouldn't work on paper but absolutely does in practice β a sommelier-curated wine list inside a food hall, next to a raw bar, in Fargo. Send your friends here, and tell them to ask about the Tondonia.
