The Gaslight Social isn't pretending to be a wine bar, and honestly, that's refreshing. The list is tight at 18 labels, built entirely for the crowd that wants something recognizable and drinkable without a lot of fuss. What hits you first is how reasonable the prices are — in a market where casual spots routinely gouge on wine, this one isn't playing that game.
The list leans heavily California, with a few nods to Oregon — Willamette Valley Vineyards Whole Cluster Pinot Noir at $38 is the most interesting bottle here and stands noticeably above the rest of the field. Cabernet Sauvignon gets the most real estate, with Bogle, Coppola Claret, and Daou covering entry through mid-range. There's no old world representation, no skin-contact stuff, nothing that'll surprise anyone — but the producers are reliable workhorses rather than bottom-shelf fillers. Gaps are real: no Riesling, no Syrah, no sparkling beyond a Josh Cellars Prosecco, and the whole list could fit on a cocktail napkin.
All 18 bottles are available by the glass, which is a genuinely guest-friendly move — no locked-in bottle commitments. The entry point is a very approachable $7.50 for Bogle across Cab, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Sauv Blanc, and Chardonnay, giving casual drinkers a low-stakes on-ramp. Glass pours top out at $18, which tracks with what's actually on the list — no misleading premium positioning.
Willamette Valley Vineyards Whole Cluster Pinot Noir — $38
At $38 a bottle, this is the clear value anchor of the list. WVV Whole Cluster punches above this price point regularly — it's earthy, structured, and a genuine Oregon Pinot in a sea of California crowd-pleasers. If you're ordering a bottle, this is the one.
Daou Cabernet Sauvignon
Daou has quietly become one of Paso Robles' most consistent Cab producers, and most people still scroll past it for the Coppola or the Bogle. At $40 it's the top of the list, but it actually earns that spot — more structure and depth than anything else in the red section.
Josh Cellars Prosecco
At $30 a bottle, you're paying a steep premium for one of the most ubiquitous, warehouse-distributed Proseccos on the market. It's fine — barely — but you can do better for that money almost anywhere, and here there's nowhere better to redirect it on the sparkling front.
Mer Soleil Reserve Chardonnay + Burger
Mer Soleil Reserve is a rich, barrel-forward Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay at $35 — it's the most serious white on the list. A classic smash burger with a buttery bun and whatever comes with it will match the wine's weight without fighting it. It's an unexpected move that works.
The Bottom Line
The Gaslight Social is doing exactly what a casual Wyoming bar should do with wine — keeping prices honest, options familiar, and the threshold low. Don't come here chasing discovery, but don't write it off either; grab the WVV Pinot and have a good night.
