Wingman Metrics
For a beachside spot in Cocoa Beach, the 112-bottle list at The Fat Snook signals that someone here gives a damn. It doesn't scream wine destination, but it doesn't scream tourist trap either — and in this zip code, that distinction matters more than you'd think.
The list has grown beyond its California-heavy roots into something with a genuine international sweep — boutique picks from multiple regions sit alongside more familiar names, which makes browsing it feel less like a chore. It won't impress anyone flying in from a major wine city, but for a Brevard County seafood restaurant, this is genuinely above-average work. The Spanish and French presence is noticeable — producers like Gulp Hablo and Moulin de Gassac show up, which suggests someone is at least paying attention to what's interesting at the under-$15 glass tier. There are gaps, and the depth of the cellar is unclear, but the bones are solid.
Three options by the glass is thin — there's no getting around that. At $7 a pour, the price is right, and the François Montand Brut Blanc showing up as a glass option is a small but encouraging sign that bubbles aren't an afterthought. The program needs more range here; three pours forces everyone into the same narrow lane.
Moulin de Gassac Rosé 2021 — $7
A Languedoc rosé at $7 a glass from a producer with real credibility — this is the move at happy hour. Moulin de Gassac punches well above this price point at retail, and The Fat Snook is basically giving it away.
François Montand Brut Blanc
Most people reaching for bubbles at a beach restaurant will assume it's going to be something cheap and forgettable. François Montand is an honest, clean Crémant-style sparkler that works hard next to raw oysters or anything light on the menu — and most tables will walk right past it.
Gulp Hablo Fresco 2020
Nothing wrong with this Spanish white in theory, but a 2020 vintage pour at a restaurant in 2024 raises questions about list maintenance and bottle turnover. When fresher options are available on the same list at the same price, this one isn't worth the risk.
Moulin de Gassac Rosé 2021 + Seared sea scallops
A dry Languedoc rosé has the acidity to cut through the butteriness of seared scallops without overwhelming the delicate sweetness of the seafood. At $7, you can order two glasses and not feel a thing.
Tuesday–Friday — Discounted beer, wine, and seasonal spritzers during happy hour, Monday–Friday 4:00–6:00pm (Tuesday–Friday confirmed via social; Monday included on website menu). Half-off appetizers run concurrently.
✔️ The Bottom Line
The Fat Snook is doing more with its wine list than most Cocoa Beach restaurants bother to attempt, and the weekday happy hour makes it genuinely worth timing your arrival right. It's not a wine destination, but it's a reliable spot that respects the bottle enough to be worth your trust.
North Melbourne · Melbourne · Japanese / Sushi
Makoto isn't trying to be a wine bar and it knows it — the list is short, the labels are familiar, and the prices are genuinely kind. Send your friends here for sushi and tell them to order the Malbec by the bottle; they'll be fine.

The Landing Rooftop is a reliable spot for a glass with a genuinely spectacular view — hit it on a Wednesday when the wines go half price and the Cambria Chardonnay becomes the best deal on the Space Coast. Don't come here to geek out on wine; do come here to drink something decent while watching a rocket launch.

Hemingway's Tavern isn't a wine destination, but it earns its keep with a list that's wider than the vibe suggests and a Wednesday half-price bottle deal that makes even the steeper markups disappear. Come for the tacos, stay for the Albariño, and thank the calendar for getting you there on Wednesday.

It's a counter-service Greek grill in a strip mall that serves Xinomavro and Assyrtiko at fair prices — that's either a minor miracle or a Wild Card, and we're calling it the latter. Don't sleep on the wine list just because you're eating off a paper tray.

Outback's wine list is exactly what you'd expect from a national chain that treats wine as a revenue line item rather than a program worth caring about. Come for the steak, order the Chateau Ste. Michelle if you need a bottle, and save the real wine exploration for a different night.

Texas Roadhouse is not a wine destination and makes zero pretense of being one — we respect the honesty, even if we can't respect the list. Order the rolls, order the ribs, order a beer, and let the wine page collect dust.
