Wingman Metrics
The wine list at The Bread Box reads like someone grabbed a clipboard at a mid-tier grocery store and called it a day. Six options, all familiar national brands, nothing that's going to make you think twice. This is a wine list that exists because a café has to have one, not because anyone here particularly cares about it.
Six bottles, all comfortable and recognizable — Chateau Souverain Chardonnay, La Marca Prosecco, Zonin 1821 Pinot Grigio, Chateau St Jean Pinot Noir, Proverb Cabernet Sauvignon, and a Mauta Sauvignon Blanc rounding things out. The regional spread is California and Italy, which sounds broader than it is when every label is a supermarket staple. There's no depth, no discovery, and no reason a wine drinker would choose this list over the restaurant's presumably solid sandwich game. The Prosecco arrives in a 187ml split, which at least keeps things casual, but it's a small mercy.
All six bottles appear to be available by the glass in the $6–$11 range, which is the one thing the list has going for it — entry prices are low enough that you're not crying over a mediocre pour. Don't expect any rotation or seasonal additions; this list looks like it's been parked in place for a while and nobody's moved it.
Chateau St Jean Pinot Noir — $27
At roughly a 125% markup it's the least egregious bottle on the list, and Pinot Noir is at least a reasonable call alongside the café's sandwiches. It's not exciting, but if you're splitting a bottle, this is where to land.
Mauta Sauvignon Blanc
It's the one name here that doesn't immediately trigger grocery-aisle recognition. We don't know enough about it to call it great, but it's the only wildcard in an otherwise completely predictable lineup — worth a glass out of sheer curiosity.
Proverb Cabernet Sauvignon
A $8 retail bottle marked up to nearly $23 — that's a 187% markup on a Cab that tastes exactly like what it is. Hard pass. Order a sparkling water and save your money.
La Marca Prosecco + The Royal Bavarian sandwich
The bubbles and light sweetness of the Prosecco cut through the richness of a hearty Bavarian-style sandwich better than any red on this list would. It's not a deep insight, but it's the most fun you'll have with this wine program.
❌ The Bottom Line
The Bread Box is clearly here for the bread, the sandwiches, and the café experience — and that's totally fine. The wine list is an afterthought dressed up in familiar labels with markups that don't reward you for paying attention. Stick to the food, order a coffee, and save the wine for dinner somewhere else.

Bonefish Grill Harrisburg is a dependable dinner out, not a wine destination — the list is corporate-safe, the markups are real, and nobody behind the bar is losing sleep over vintage variation. Come for the seafood, pick something crisp and white, and set your expectations accordingly.

Millworks is a brewery first and a wine destination second, but the wine list punches well above what you'd expect from a place whose tap list is the main event. Come for the beer, stay for a Grüner or a Galen Glen — and tell your wine-skeptic friends it's a brewery so they'll actually show up.

Cork & Fork is doing something genuinely worthwhile in a city where the wine bar concept hasn't exactly taken hold — the list is real, the by-the-glass program is strong, and there are bottles here worth seeking out. Send a friend here if they want something better than a chain restaurant wine list; just temper expectations on staff deep-cuts and don't blow your budget on the Veuve.

Bacco isn't trying to be a wine bar — it's a pizzeria that respects the Italian tradition enough to pour the right wines at honest prices. Send a friend here without hesitation; just steer them toward the Lugana.
