Wingman Metrics
The Blind Rabbit leans hard into its speakeasy mystique — hidden entrance, moody lighting, the whole bit. Then you open the wine list and the illusion collapses. Five options, all at $16 a glass, all the kind of bottles you'd find on a grocery store endcap.
We're working with a five-bottle lineup: a Chardonnay, a Wente Rosé, two Roaming Legend bottles (Sauvignon Blanc and a Red Blend), and a Blanchard Perez Cava. There's no bottle service to speak of, no regional breadth, no Old World anchor, no interesting producers. Roaming Legend is a perfectly drinkable Central Valley label — but it's doing a lot of heavy lifting here, appearing twice on a list this thin. The Cava is the one moment of genuine interest, but a single sparkling option doesn't constitute a wine program.
Every wine on this list is by the glass, which sounds generous until you realize the list is five wines deep and every single one is $16. Flat pricing across all styles — Cava to Red Blend — suggests nobody put much thought into this beyond setting a number and calling it done. There's no rotation, no seasonal swap, no reason to come back hoping for something new.
Blanchard Perez Cava Brut — $16
It's the only wine on this list with a pulse. Cava is naturally food-friendly and festive, and in a speakeasy setting it at least makes some atmospheric sense. It's not a steal at $16, but it's the most defensible pour of the five.
Roaming Legend Sauvignon Blanc
Nobody's coming to a speakeasy-themed gastropub expecting to find Sauvignon Blanc, which means it gets ignored in favor of the Red Blend or the rosé. It's light, easy-drinking, and probably the best match for anything acidic or herb-forward on the food menu — worth the ask if the kitchen is running anything bright.
Roaming Legend Red Blend
A Central Valley red blend at $16 a glass is a tough sell. You're paying cocktail money for a wine that retails well under $15 a bottle. The math doesn't work, and in a room built for atmosphere, this is the most anonymous pour on the menu.
Blanchard Perez Cava Brut + Charcuterie or bar bites
Cava's acidity and bubble cut through fat and salt better than anything else on this list. If The Blind Rabbit is running any kind of cured meat or cheese board — the kind of thing that belongs in a speakeasy — this is your move.
The Bottom Line
The Blind Rabbit has nailed the aesthetic and completely phoned in the wine program. Five flat-priced grocery-tier bottles is not a wine list — it's a placeholder. Order a cocktail; that's clearly where the care went.

Colony Wine Merchant is the Wild Card Anaheim didn't know it needed — a thoughtful, fairly priced list with genuine international reach tucked into a city better known for theme parks. If you're in the area and want a real glass of wine, this is the move.

Fleming's Anaheim is a chain doing the wine bar thing earnestly — 42 by-the-glass options and a few genuinely interesting bottles buried in a mostly crowd-pleasing list. Markups run steep, but if you know where to look, you can drink well here without overpaying.

Vincenzo's Terrazza doesn't push any boundaries, but the Frescobaldi trio and that Brunello give the list more backbone than you'd expect from a casual Italian in Anaheim. Come for the food, drink the Nipozzano, leave happy.

Catal is doing the best version of a tourist-district wine list — which still means it's playing not to lose rather than to win. If you're here for a pre-park dinner and want something drinkable without drama, it delivers. Just don't come expecting a wine destination.
