Stewart Cellars NOMAD sidesteps most of that. The heritage library flight concept signals that someone here is actually thinking about wine, not just pouring it.
The list is tight — call it 15 to 25 SKUs — but it earns its square footage. The NOMAD single-vineyard Cabernets are the main event, pulling from distinct Napa heritage sites and giving you a genuine sense of place rather than a house-style blur. They round things out with a Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir that has no business being this affordable relative to everything else on the list, plus a Chardonnay and Merlot for the current-release crowd. The Tartan Red Blend, launched for the tasting room's one-year anniversary, adds a playful entry point without dumbing things down. Nothing wrong with it, but in a room built around the NOMAD Cabernet program, ordering the Chardonnay feels like going to a steakhouse for the salad. The heritage Cab flights are the reason you're here — act accordingly.
