Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Southern Bistro is compact and approachable — 26 bottles, nearly all available by the glass, which tells you they're set up for casual weeknight dining rather than deep cellar exploration. Prices top out at $58/bottle, which keeps the whole thing refreshingly unpretentious. Nothing here is going to make a wine nerd's pulse race, but it's a list built to make people comfortable, and it largely succeeds.
The white side leans heavily New World with a predictable Sauvignon Blanc trifecta — The Crossings, Villa Maria, and Honig — covering the entry-to-mid-range spectrum without much friction. A Cadre Band of Stones Grüner Veltliner and a Domaine Roger Neveu Sancerre add a bit of Old World credibility near the top of the price ladder. On the red side, the range is thinner: a Trivento Malbec, an Ancient Peaks Zinfandel, two Merlots, and a Block Nine Pinot Noir round things out, but there's no Cabernet Sauvignon, no Italian reds, and no Syrah to speak of. It's a list that plays to the crowd without trying to grow it.
The by-the-glass program is genuinely generous — 24 of 26 bottles are available by the glass, ranging from $8 to $16. That gives diners real flexibility to mix and match through a meal, which is a smart move for a Southern bistro format. The glass prices track the bottle prices fairly, with no obvious squeeze plays.
The Bottom Line
Southern Bistro isn't trying to be a wine destination, and the list makes no bones about that — but the pricing is honest, the by-the-glass flexibility is real, and there are a couple of genuinely good picks buried in a list that mostly sticks to the familiar. If you're in Sandy Springs and want a glass of something decent without a fight, this works. Just don't come expecting discovery.

· Sandy Springs · Italian
Pendolino is doing something genuinely interesting with a very short Italian wine list — prioritizing producers and regions that actually reward curiosity over safe crowd-pleasers. We don't have pricing or glass program details to fully vet the value story, but the selection alone earns our attention. If you're eating Italian in Sandy Springs and you want more than the usual suspects, this list is worth your time.

Brooklyn Cafe's wine list is doing more than it has to for a Sandy Springs neighborhood restaurant — the white selections alone, from Rudi Pichler to Merry Edwards, show real editorial intent. Pricing transparency is a question mark without confirmed figures, and the glass program is a mystery we couldn't resolve. Worth a visit if you're eating in the area; just go in ready to ask questions.

· Sandy Springs · Rotisserie Chicken
Roasters is here for the chicken, not the wine, and the list makes that abundantly clear. At fair price points for what's on offer, you won't feel robbed — but you also won't feel inspired. Order a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, eat the bird, and call it a night.

If you're at Battle & Brew, you're here to play games and drink something cold — and that's completely fine. The wine list exists to check a box, not to excite anyone. At $8/glass for anonymous house pours, the price is inoffensive, but there's nothing here to seek out. Order the Demon Slayer Sake, grab a controller, and don't lose any sleep over the wine program.

Inman Park · Sandy Springs · Spanish Wine Bar
Barcelona Inman Park runs a genuinely ambitious by-the-glass program — fair prices, Iberian depth, and enough global detours to keep things interesting. We'd send a friend here specifically to work through the whites and bubbles with a spread of small plates, and the Bico Amarelo at $9 a glass makes that an easy ask.

· Sandy Springs · Global New American
Earl's Sandy Springs is clearly a restaurant where wine is an afterthought — three bottles is a bar cart, not a wine program. Come for the food and the cocktails, but don't count on the wine list to add anything to the evening. If wine matters to you, this is not your spot.

· Chattahoochee Hills · New American/Southern
Austin's at Serenbe isn't running a wine program — it's running a non-alcoholic beverage token dressed up as one. If you're looking to drink wine with dinner, plan ahead and ask about corkage, or adjust your expectations dramatically before you sit down.

Upper Westside · Atlanta · New American/Southern
The Corner Grille Upper Westside keeps its wine program simple, accessible, and mostly fairly priced — this is a neighborhood spot that wants to feed you well and keep your glass full, not win any awards for its cellar. If you're here for Southern comfort food and want an easy, no-fuss glass of wine alongside it, the Septima Malbec or Michel Thomas Sancerre will do the job. Skip the Meiomi, order another appetizer, and let the kitchen do the heavy lifting.

· Cartersville · New American/Southern
Largos is doing more with wine than most casual New American spots in a mid-size Georgia city, and the by-the-glass breadth gives almost every diner a workable option. The markups skew steep — especially on the bigger bottles — so lean toward the by-the-glass program, grab the Benton Lane Pinot, and don't overthink it. Worth ordering wine here; just don't order the Santa Margherita.
