The wine list at Ship to Shore reads exactly like the restaurant feels — upscale-casual, crowd-pleasing, and comfortable in its own skin. It's not trying to be a wine destination, and it doesn't pretend otherwise. What you get is a 57-label list that covers the obvious bases without venturing too far off the beaten path.
France, Italy, and California carry the weight here, with some nods to Spain and — refreshingly — New York's own Hudson Valley and Finger Lakes producers. The Champagne section punches above its weight with Piper-Heidsieck, Taittinger Rosé, and Veuve Clicquot all present, which suits the waterfront splurge crowd well. On the red side, you've got Turley Zinfandel from Amador County and the Arcanum Valadorna Super Tuscan for those who want something with more personality than the predictable Caymus and Silver Oak anchor bottles. The gaps show up in natural wine, any serious Burgundy presence, and adventurous value picks — this list was built for guests who already know what they like.
Fifteen options by the glass is a solid offering for a restaurant of this size and style, spanning a reasonable $12–$15 range. The Alphonse Mellot La Moussière Sancerre and the Vietti Cascinetta Moscato d'Asti are standouts in a lineup that otherwise leans predictable. We'd love to see more rotation here — the list feels like it was set once and left alone.

Mellot's Sancerre is a Loire benchmark — bright, mineral, and a natural fit with whatever seafood special is running that night. At $15 a glass, it's the rare pick on this list where quality and price actually align.
Turley Wine Cellars Buck Cobb Vineyard Zinfandel, Amador County, CA
Turley is one of California's most respected Zinfandel houses, and the Buck Cobb Vineyard bottling is serious wine. Most tables here will default to Caymus or Silver Oak — let them. This is the more interesting bottle in the room.
Silver Oak Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley, CA
At $150 a bottle, you're paying a substantial premium for a label that retails widely and predictably. It's a fine wine, but the markup here is doing a lot of the heavy lifting — there's no shortage of better value elsewhere on the list.
Ramey Cellars Chardonnay, Russian River Valley, CA + Seafood special
Ramey's Russian River Chardonnay is rich and textured but not overblown — it has the weight to stand up to a butter-finished seafood dish without bulldozing it. On a waterfront patio, this is the move.

Ship to Shore is a reliable wine stop for a waterfront dinner — the list does the job, a few genuine gems are hiding in there, and the by-the-glass selection is more than adequate. Just watch the markup on the marquee bottles and order smart.
