Wingman Metrics
Seven bottles. That's the whole list. At most places, that would be a red flag β here, it reads more like a curatorial statement. Redlight started life as a wine and coffee bar, and that original instinct is still visible in the bones of this selection.
For a late-night Asian-inspired cocktail bar in downtown Bellingham, this wine list is doing something genuinely interesting. You've got Le Piane's Nebbiolo from Colline Novaresi β a northern Piedmont bottling that most casual diners will walk right past β alongside Casa de Mouraz from DΓ£o, Portugal, a region that still flies well under the American radar. Ancarani's Le Signore and i Vicini round out the Italian presence, and Big Salt covers the crowd-pleasing Pacific Northwest angle. The gaps are obvious β no deep cellar, no vintage depth, no real exploration beyond seven labels β but every bottle here feels like it was chosen by someone who actually drinks wine, not someone who called a distributor and took whatever was on promo.
With only seven labels and a format that reads as fully by-the-glass, the entire list is essentially a BTG program β which is either efficient or limiting depending on your mood. Happy hour drops glasses to $5 and up, which is where this list genuinely earns its keep. There's no formal rotation noted, so don't expect seasonal surprises.
Casa de Mouraz DΓ£o β $5+
DΓ£o is one of Portugal's most undervalued regions β structured, mineral, and food-friendly. Getting it at happy hour pricing is the kind of deal that makes a Tuesday feel like a win.
Le Piane Nebbiolo Colline Novaresi
Most people see Nebbiolo and assume Barolo prices and big tannic commitment. This northern Piedmont version from Le Piane is leaner, more fragrant, and far more approachable β and almost nobody orders it because they don't recognize the name.
Big Salt Big Salt
It's a fine wine and a recognizable Pacific Northwest label, but it's also the most predictable thing on this list. If you're at a bar that stocks Le Piane and Casa de Mouraz, ordering the crowd-pleaser is a missed opportunity.
Ancarani Le Signore + Panini
Ancarani's Romagna whites are bright and saline with enough acidity to cut through melted cheese and cured meat. It's a simple pairing that just works β sharp wine, rich sandwich, done.
π² The Bottom Line
Redlight isn't a wine destination, but it's a wine bar that still remembers why it became one β and that Le Piane Nebbiolo alone justifies a stop. Come for the cocktails, stay when you spot what's actually on that seven-bottle list.
Waterfront / Bellwether Β· Bellingham Β· American Bar & Grill, Waterfront Seafood
The Loft is a Reliable waterfront spot where the wine list will never embarrass you but will rarely excite you β show up on a Wednesday, grab a half-price bottle of the Columbia Crest or Ste. Michelle Riesling, and let the harbor view do the heavy lifting. Don't come here expecting to geek out; do come here expecting a perfectly decent glass of wine with a genuinely great view.

Lombardi's is doing wine right for what it is: a waterfront Italian spot that wants you to drink well without making you work for it. It's not a destination list, but it's an honest one β fair prices, solid range, and enough Washington representation to feel local.

Anthony's isn't trying to be a wine destination β it's a reliable Northwest seafood house that keeps things local, keeps prices honest, and lets the harbor do the heavy lifting. Send a friend here for the salmon and the view; just don't expect to geek out over the list.

Keenan's is a reliable wine stop for what it is β a waterfront hotel restaurant where the list supports the meal without demanding your full attention. We'd send a friend here for the view and the salmon, and tell them to order the Talmard Chardonnay or the Orr Chenin while they're at it.

Rock & Rye is a genuinely surprising find β a 600-bottle list hiding inside a casual oyster bar is the kind of thing that earns you a detour. Markups keep it from being great value, but the selection alone makes it worth exploring if you're willing to dig past the obvious pours.
