You're at a winery, so the wine list is essentially the point of the whole operation — and Ravines leans into that hard. The list is tight, estate-focused, and completely unashamed of it. There's no filler from California or a token Malbec to appease the crowd; it's Finger Lakes or nothing.
Everything on this list comes from Ravines' own vineyards, which sounds limiting until you realize how good that estate actually is. The dry Riesling program here draws direct comparisons to Alsace and the Mosel — European in structure, not the cloying stuff that gave Finger Lakes Riesling a bad reputation. The méthode champenoise sparkling wines are a genuine surprise: traditional-method bubbles from upstate New York that hold their own against entry-level Champagne. Barrel- and cask-aged reds round out the list, giving the program more range than its size suggests.
With somewhere between 10 and 16 pours available by the glass, Ravines offers one of the more generous BTG programs you'll find at a winery tasting room. The lineup rotates across the estate portfolio, meaning you can work your way through the Riesling spectrum — off-dry to bone dry — without committing to a full bottle. That alone makes this a serious by-the-glass destination.
Ravines Estate Riesling (Dry) — $
Dry, precise, and built like a European white at a price that makes no sense for the quality. This is the wine that Finger Lakes skeptics need in front of them.
Ravines Méthode Champenoise Sparkling
Most people come here for the Riesling and sleep on the bubbles. Traditional-method sparkling from a Finger Lakes estate shouldn't work this well — but it does. Order it first.
Ravines Barrel-Aged Reds
The reds are competent, but this is Riesling country and the barrel-aged program hasn't caught up to the whites yet. Fine if you're curious, but don't anchor your visit here.
Ravines Estate Riesling (Dry) + Seasonal Cheese and Charcuterie Board
The dry Riesling's sharp acidity and mineral edge cut straight through aged cheese and cured meat without a fight. It's the kind of pairing that feels obvious in retrospect.
The Bottom Line
This is what a winery restaurant should be: one producer, done exceptionally well, with food that gets out of the wine's way. If you're passing through the Finger Lakes and skip this, you made a mistake.

Vinifera is the kind of place that earns a Wild Card not because we have proof of a flawless list, but because the concept — old-world regions alongside Finger Lakes producers, in a speakeasy-style room in upstate New York — is genuinely worth the detour to find out. If you're passing through Geneva or heading to the wine trail, this is the obvious stop for a nightcap with some ambition behind it. Book ahead, order a flight, and ask whoever's behind the bar what they're excited about.

The Hunt Club is an intriguing case — a special-occasion steakhouse in the Wisconsin lake country with a members-only wine program that hints at more depth than the public-facing list reveals. If you're a Geneva National member, the 50% off bottles and boutique wine access make this a genuine wine destination; if you're not, it's a solid steakhouse wine list with a scenic backdrop and fair pricing that won't embarrass anyone. Go for the ribeye and Parker rolls either way — and ask your server what's behind the member curtain before you order.
