Wingman Metrics
A 36-bottle list at a Persian-Mediterranean kitchen in Johns Creek is more than you'd expect, and it actually holds up under scrutiny. The list is organized sensibly — sparkling, white, red — and pricing doesn't immediately make you wince. This is a restaurant that put thought into its wine program without making it the centerpiece.
The list skews New World with a few smart picks: Dutton-Goldfield Chardonnay from Russian River is a legitimate producer earning its $65 price tag, and Benton Lane Pinot Noir from Oregon's Willamette Valley is a real wine in a category that too often defaults to grocery-store filler. The sparkling section leans Champagne-heavy, running from Louis Pommery at $44 up to Dom Pérignon at $350, which is fine if you're celebrating but leaves a gap for anything interesting under $40. The Malbec section — with three separate labels including a Santa Irene Organic at $36 — suggests someone behind this list has a soft spot for Argentina. Fazeli Cellars, a Persian-American producer, also makes an appearance, which is a genuinely nice touch given the restaurant's identity.
Twelve pours is a solid by-the-glass program for a restaurant this size, and the $10–$12 range is fair by Atlanta-area standards. You've got coverage across sparkling, white, and red, with options like Le Jade Viognier and Essence Riesling that move beyond the obvious Chardonnay-and-Cab defaults. The Cigar Box Malbec at $10/glass is your everyday workhorse pour.
The Bottom Line
Persian Basket has put together a wine list that respects both its guests and its cuisine — fair pricing, real producers, and a by-the-glass selection that gives you options beyond the obvious. It's not a destination wine list, but it's the kind of list that makes a neighborhood restaurant genuinely better. If you're heading there for food, the wine won't let you down.

Noosh Kitchen's wine list is competent, fairly priced, and built for the broadest possible audience — which means it won't thrill anyone looking for something interesting, but it won't embarrass you either. The markup is honest and the by-the-glass selection is generous. Go for the Chehalem Chardonnay or the Barone Fini, eat the food, and don't expect the list to do anything unexpected.

CRÚ is doing something right in the sparkling department — a Champagne and bubbly selection this broad is rare in Johns Creek, and it earns the place real credit. The markups run steep across the board and the still wine list plays it very safe, but if you're meeting friends for a bottle of bubbles before dinner, this is a legitimate destination. Go in with the sparkling list in mind and you'll leave happy.

Pasta Vino isn't trying to be a wine destination, and that's fine — it's a neighborhood Italian with a list that actually makes sense for the room. Pricing is fair across the board, the by-the-glass program gives you real options, and the Italian selections (especially the Chianti duo and the Lugana) show some genuine thought. Send a friend here for dinner knowing they'll drink well without overpaying.

Foundation Social Eatery is doing something genuinely interesting with wine in a suburban Atlanta market that rarely rewards the effort. The list is compact but purposeful — old world bones, a few left-field picks like the Gönc orange wine, and enough variety to revisit without repeating yourself. We'd send a curious wine-drinking friend here without hesitation, especially if they're tired of the same Napa Cab parade.

Marlow's Tavern Johns Creek isn't trying to be a wine destination and it doesn't pretend otherwise — but the pricing is fair, nearly everything is available by the glass, and a few genuine finds (the Vinho Verde, the White Malbec) reward anyone willing to look past the usual suspects. If you're here for dinner and want a solid glass without overthinking it, you're in good hands.

Cru is doing something genuinely uncommon for suburban Atlanta — a thoughtful, explorable by-the-glass program with real producers and fair pricing. We'd send a friend here specifically to work through the Riesling flight (Trimbach, Eroica, August Kessler all on one menu is not nothing). Just go in knowing the food program is an open question from a wine-review standpoint.

Zafron isn't trying to be a wine destination, and that's fine — the list exists to support the food, not steal the spotlight. Markups are fair, every bottle pours by the glass, and there are a few genuinely solid picks if you know where to look. Send a friend here for the Persian food and tell them to order the Allegrini.

Naar is a reliable neighborhood option for wine — fair prices, almost everything available by the glass, and a list that doesn't try too hard in either direction. If you're in Holly Springs and want a decent Bordeaux or an interesting White Malbec with your shawarma, you'll be fine here. Don't expect discovery, but don't expect disappointment either.

Crave isn't trying to be a wine destination, and the list makes that clear. But with fair glass prices, full by-the-glass availability, and a couple of genuinely solid picks like the Calera Pinot Noir, it does its job without embarrassing anyone. If you're here for the food and want a reasonable glass to go with it, you'll be fine — just don't show up expecting regional wines to match the cuisine.
