Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Perry's reads exactly like you'd expect from a polished national steakhouse chain — familiar names, approachable formatting, and zero surprises. It's the kind of list that was designed to offend no one and excite no one. That said, it gets the job done if you know where to look.
Thirty-five labels isn't a deep cellar, and Perry's doesn't pretend to be one. The list leans heavily on California and leans even harder on brands you've already seen at your last three restaurant visits — J. Lohr, Duckhorn Migration, Chateau St. Jean. There's a nod to Europe with the Kesseler 'R' Riesling from the Rheingau and the Perrin Réserve Côtes du Rhône, which at least signals someone consulted a map beyond Napa. The Perry's Reserve house labels fill out the mid-range slots, which is common chain strategy — decent margins, familiar branding. If you're hunting for a grower Champagne or an under-the-radar Barolo, keep walking.
Thirty-four of thirty-five labels pour by the glass, which is genuinely unusual and worth noting — almost every bottle on the list is accessible without committing to the full thing. The glass range runs $7.50 to $55, with most options clustering in the $9–$15 zone. That breadth is the list's single biggest strength for the casual diner.
The Bottom Line
Perry's Raleigh is a competent steakhouse wine list — nothing more, nothing less. The near-universal by-the-glass access is a genuine win, and the Perrin Côtes du Rhône and Kesseler Riesling give you something worth drinking if you look past the front-of-list crowd pleasers. Just don't come here expecting discovery; come here expecting reliability.

The Players Retreat is the Wild Card because nobody walks in expecting a legitimate wine program at a beloved Raleigh neighborhood bar — and yet, here we are. Matt Fern keeps things credible, the California and French anchors are well-chosen, and as long as you steer past the grocery-store staples, you're drinking better than the room suggests.

Cucciolo Terrazza is a genuine surprise in Raleigh's dining scene — a neighborhood Italian with a wine list that earns its Wine Spectator badge and actually makes you want to explore beyond the first familiar name you recognize. Send your friends here and tell them to skip the Napa Cab.

Brier Creek · Raleigh · Indian
Azitra is doing something genuinely unusual — running a Wine Spectator-caliber list at an upscale Indian restaurant in Raleigh — and largely pulling it off. The Wednesday half-price program alone makes it worth putting in your rotation; the Bollinger and the Drouhin make it worth telling your friends about.

Cloer is a Wild Card in the best sense: it's a real working vineyard producing honest North Carolina wine at fair prices, and the vibe alone is worth the trip out of Raleigh. Bring food, bring friends, and give the Muscadine a real shot.

BLT Prime's wine program is glass-only, which limits your options if you came for a big bottle moment, but the pricing is honest and the selection is more thoughtful than most steakhouses bother with. If you're keeping it casual and ordering by the glass, you can drink well here without feeling taken advantage of — and that's not nothing in this city.

Perry's wine list is exactly what you'd expect from a polished Texas steakhouse chain — familiar names, broad by-the-glass coverage, and markups that remind you where you are. It's not a destination for wine, but the 41-glass-pour lineup means you won't go thirsty, and the Perrin Côtes du Rhône or Marques de Caceres Rosé will get you through dinner without overpaying. Send a friend here for the pork chop; tell them to pick carefully from the wine list.

· San Antonio · Steakhouse
Bob's Steak & Chop House San Antonio does exactly what a steakhouse wine list is supposed to do — it gives you recognizable producers, a respectable Champagne section, and enough California Chardonnay to satisfy the table. It won't excite anyone looking for adventure, and pricing at a place like this rarely favors the customer. But if you're here for the beef and want a bottle that won't require a conversation, the list delivers.
