The wine list at Perry's Coral Gables reads like a greatest hits album of California Cabernet — and if you're here for a prime dry-aged ribeye, that's not necessarily a complaint. It's polished, confident, and entirely unsurprising, which is kind of the point at a place with dark wood paneling and leather booths as far as the eye can see.
Two hundred to three hundred selections sounds like depth until you notice how California-heavy the lean is — Caymus, Jordan, Silver Oak, Stag's Leap, Duckhorn, Opus One, Far Niente, Beringer Private Reserve. These are trophy names that steakhouse regulars recognize and order with confidence, and Perry's has curated exactly that crowd. There's little here to surprise a wine adventurer, but if you want a well-sourced bottle of Napa Cab to sit alongside a bone-in ribeye, Perry's has you covered. The Wine Spectator Award of Excellence they've held since 2020 makes sense in context — this is a list that does exactly what it sets out to do.
Twenty to thirty pours by the glass is a genuinely generous program for a steakhouse format, with prices running $12–$25 depending on what you're reaching for. The range likely mirrors the bottle list — California-forward, approachable, reliable. Don't expect anything left-field; do expect something drinkable while you wait for that pork chop.
Jordan Winery Cabernet Sauvignon — $50–$80 range
Jordan consistently punches above its price point — structured enough for a prime cut, polished enough for the room, and rarely marked up as aggressively as the bigger trophy names on this list.
Duckhorn Vineyards Merlot
Everyone at this table is ordering Cab, and Duckhorn's Merlot is quietly sitting there being excellent. Richer and more textured than most expect from Merlot, and it actually holds up beautifully against the creamed spinach and jumbo lump crab cakes without steamrolling them.
Opus One
Yes, it's prestigious. Yes, it's delicious. But at a steakhouse markup on top of an already premium retail price, you're paying a significant premium for the label. Save Opus One for a bottle shop purchase and put that budget toward two solid bottles instead.
Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon + USDA Prime dry-aged bone-in ribeye
Stag's Leap brings enough structure and dark fruit to hold its own against a dry-aged ribeye without turning the whole experience into a tannin battle — it's a Napa Cab with some actual elegance, which this cut deserves.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Perry's Coral Gables is a reliable, well-stocked steakhouse wine list that serves its audience exactly what they came for — big California Cabs at premium prices in a premium room. If you're after adventure, look elsewhere; if you're after a proper bottle of Napa with a proper piece of beef, this delivers.
Hartland · Hartland · Steak House
Palmer's is a reliable steakhouse wine list that delivers exactly what its suburban clientele wants — well-known California names, solid execution, and nothing too weird. If you're a wine adventurer, you'll want to temper expectations; if you're celebrating with a ribeye and a Jordan Cab, you'll leave satisfied.

Ward's House of Prime is exactly what it says it is: a classic Milwaukee steakhouse with a wine list built to match big cuts of beef. The Wine Spectator Award of Excellence is well-earned, but don't come looking for adventure — come looking for a great California Cab and a slab of prime rib.
