First Impression
The wine list at Daniel's hits different β in the best way. You open it expecting a decent Italian program and instead find Giacomo Conterno Barolo sitting next to Biondi-Santi Brunello, with Bordeaux First Growths tucked in behind them. This is a serious list wearing a neighborhood restaurant disguise.
Selection Deep Dive
Piedmont and Tuscany are the clear anchors, and the depth here is real β we're talking Gaja, Bruno Giacosa, and Produttori del Barbaresco on the Nebbiolo side, while Tuscany brings Sassicaia, Ornellaia, Tignanello, and Biondi-Santi without breaking a sweat. Bordeaux gets proper treatment with ChΓ’teau Margaux and ChΓ’teau Latour making appearances, and Champagne covers the prestige bases with Krug, Bollinger, and Dom PΓ©rignon. California isn't an afterthought either β Opus One, Ridge, and Caymus round out a list that clocks in at 350-500 bottles and earns its Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence (held since 2019) honestly. The one gap worth noting: if you're looking for natural wine or anything from the Southern Hemisphere, you're in the wrong room.

Eighteen to twenty-eight options by the glass is a generous pour program for a restaurant this size, and with sommelier Yvette Russel steering the ship, the pours aren't just filler. Expect the glass list to reflect the Italian-forward identity of the bottle list rather than chasing trends. That said, we'd love to see more rotation β right now it reads more like a fixed menu than a living program.
Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco β $60
Produttori is a co-op that punches absurdly above its weight β Barbaresco from one of Piedmont's most reliable producers at what should be a fraction of what Gaja costs on this list. If the pricing holds anywhere near retail, it's the smartest order on the page.
Argiano Brunello di Montalcino
Everyone at the table is eyeing Biondi-Santi, which is fair β but Argiano delivers serious Brunello at a price point that doesn't require a silent prayer before ordering. It's consistently underordered because it shares a page with legends, and that's exactly why you should order it.
Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon
Caymus is a fine wine, but it's also one of the most marked-up bottles in the American restaurant system. You're paying a premium on top of an already inflated national price, and in a room with Opus One and Ridge on the same list, it's the safe pick that costs the most for the least reward.
Giacomo Conterno Barolo + Cacio e Pepe
Conterno Barolo brings enough tannic structure and earthy depth to stand up to the pepper-forward punch of Cacio e Pepe, while the acidity cuts right through the fat of the Pecorino. It's a classic Italian pairing that doesn't try to be clever β it just works.

Daniel's is the real deal β a Wine Spectator-credentialed Italian program with genuine depth in Piedmont and Tuscany, a knowledgeable sommelier on the floor, and a list that rewards the curious drinker. The markups will sting, but if you're eating Italian in Coral Gables and care about what's in your glass, there's nowhere else to go.
