Wingman Metrics
Paschal's carries serious Atlanta history — this place fed civil rights leaders and has earned its legend status many times over. But when you turn to the wine list, the energy shifts fast. What's there feels like an afterthought appended to a menu that's rightly proud of its fried chicken.
The program leans on familiar California and Italian territory — the kind of list that was probably built to check a box rather than complement the food. There's no visible effort to source producers that might actually make a case for wine alongside Southern cooking, which is a missed opportunity given how well the right bottle can work with rich, fried, and braised dishes. We couldn't confirm specific labels or pricing from available sources, so we're working with the outline here, but the outline isn't encouraging. A restaurant with this much character deserves a wine list that at least tries to match it.
By-the-glass options are unconfirmed from available sources, and that uncertainty itself tells part of the story — a strong glass program tends to be something restaurants show off. If you're sitting down to fried catfish or candied yams, you're likely choosing between whatever house pours are available, and that's not a great spot to be.
The Bottom Line
Paschal's earns its reputation on the plate — the fried chicken alone justifies the trip to Northside Drive. But the wine list isn't doing the food any favors, and there's no evidence of a serious program behind the bar. Order a cocktail, ask for sweet tea, or bring your own if corkage allows — and focus on what this kitchen actually does well.

Hard Rock Cafe Atlanta's wine list is a Lazy List by every measure — grocery store brands, steep markups, no specials, and a rotating staff with little incentive to know what's in the glass. If you're here for the memorabilia and the atmosphere, lean into a cocktail or a beer. If wine is non-negotiable, the Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling or Columbia Crest Cab will get you through the night without regret.

Alma Cocina is primarily a food-and-cocktail destination — the tequila and mezcal program is where the real energy lives. The wine list covers its bases with Spanish and South American bottles that suit the menu, but don't come here with a wine-first agenda. If wine is central to your night, this is a fine backup; if it's the main event, look elsewhere downtown.

Bar Blanc earns the Wild Card badge not by accident but by conviction — this is a short list assembled with a real point of view, priced fairly, and anchored by producers most Atlanta wine lists haven't discovered yet. We'd send a friend here any night they want to drink something genuinely interesting without being lectured about it.

No Mas! Cantina earns its reputation on agave, atmosphere, and birria tacos — not on its wine list. If wine is your thing, you'll find a functional but uninspiring selection that won't embarrass anyone but won't impress either. Order the margarita, enjoy the room, and save your wine curiosity for somewhere that shares it.

Six Feet Under isn't trying to be a wine destination, and it doesn't pretend to be — but the pricing is fair, nearly everything pours by the glass, and the Cava and Calafuria Rosé give you honest options that actually make sense with seafood. If you're here for the food and want something decent in your glass without overthinking it, this list does the job.

Holy Taco isn't trying to be a wine destination, and that's fine — but they've slipped a couple of genuinely interesting bottles (La Fage Miraflors, Marietta Old Vine, Mont Marcal Cava) into an otherwise approachable list, which is more than most taco spots can say. If you show up thirsty and curious, you'll find something worth drinking.

A broad, easy-to-read bistro list with 29 wines, 15 of them poured by the glass at $8 to $11. Order the $28 Alamos Malbec, or the $34 Famille Perrin Côtes du Rhône for something different, and ask whether the half-price Wine Wednesday bottle offer on the Specials page is running. This unrated guide covers the posted wine list, not service, storage or markups.

SouthernNational is doing something genuinely unusual — running a tight, Europe-forward wine list inside a Southern kitchen, and mostly pulling it off. If you're tired of the same Sonoma Pinot and overpriced Malbec at every restaurant in town, this list is worth your attention.

Cracker Barrel's wine program exists in the same way the decorative horseshoes on the wall exist — for atmosphere, not function. Order the biscuits, order the sweet tea, and save the wine drinking for a restaurant that's actually trying.
