This place has been holding down the working-class end of Washington Street for decades while three-Michelin-star temples sprout up on every corner around it.
The list is thin by any objective measure, but what's here is deliberately chosen. Krug Grande Cuvée 171ème Édition sitting at the top of a dive bar menu is either a stroke of genius or a cosmic accident — and honestly, who cares which. Beyond the Champagne, the selection leans toward approachable pours like a house Pinot Grigio, which is exactly what the regulars want. Don't come here for a deep Napa Cab cellar or a flight of single-vineyard Chardonnays. Come here because this is the only place in the most expensive wine zip code in America where you can drink without a reservation or a dress code.
The by-the-glass range runs from roughly $10 to $70, which tells you everything — there's a house pour for the locals and there's Krug for the Thomas Keller crowd slumming it after dinner. Rotation appears minimal; this is not a list that changes with the seasons. What you see is what you get, and on any given night, that might be exactly what you need.
