Scout Field Bar sits on the grounds of Montage Healdsburg with vineyard views and the kind of calm that costs money — and the wine list is fully in on that energy. This is not the generic hotel wine program where Kendall-Jackson fills three slots.

The list leans hard into Sonoma's greatest hits — Russian River Pinot, Sonoma Coast Chardonnay, Alexander Valley Cab — and mostly picks the right producers. Kistler Les Noisetiers, Martinelli Bella Vigna, Senses, Fathers & Daughters: these aren't filler names. There's a smart French sidebar with Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, Arnaud Lambert Cab Franc from the Loire, and Domaine Laroche Chablis that gives the list some old-world ballast without turning into a geography lesson. The Montage exclusive 'Surveyor' bottle is a fun proprietary touch, though details are thin. The one gap: we'd love more Anderson Valley and Mendocino depth given how close both appellations are.

Eighteen pours by the glass is a serious commitment for a bar program, and the range here is genuinely good — Champagne, Chablis, Côtes de Provence rosé, local Pinot, and Cab all represented. Prices run $17 on the low end up to $48, which is resort pricing but not absurd if you're holding a Kistler stem in a gorgeous outdoor setting. Rotation feels curated rather than reactive — don't expect a lot of surprise additions week to week.
