You walk in expecting another Healdsburg Plaza tasting room experience — polished, pretty, and forgettable — and LIOCO immediately corrects that assumption. The space is chic without being precious, and the focus is squarely on the wines, not the merchandise. This is a producer who has something to say.
LIOCO isn't trying to cover the world — they're making a very specific argument about California coastal wine, and the list reflects that discipline. Sonoma County Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are the anchors, but the real interest is on the edges: a Carignan and a Valdiguié that most California wineries wouldn't dare put in a tasting flight. The Sauvignon Blanc and Rosé round things out without padding the list. What you won't find here is a deep back-catalog of other producers — this is a single-winery experience, which means depth of perspective rather than breadth of region.
Pours are available alongside structured tasting flights in the $40–$75 range, so you have flexibility depending on how deep you want to go. The by-the-glass selection pulls directly from LIOCO's current releases, which keeps things focused and fresh. There's no rotation-for-the-sake-of-rotation here — what's on the list is what they believe in right now.
LIOCO Valdiguié — $40-$75 flight
Valdiguié in California is a rarity, and LIOCO's version is a legitimate wine, not a novelty act. Getting a proper pour of this within a tasting flight is genuinely good value for what you're experiencing.
LIOCO Carignan
Most people come for the Chardonnay and leave without touching the Carignan — which is a mistake. Carignan is a workhorse grape that in the right hands produces something earthy and alive, and LIOCO's hands are the right hands.
LIOCO Rosé
It's well-made, but if you're standing in a room with Valdiguié and Carignan on the table, spending your pour on the Rosé is underselling the visit. Save it for another time.
LIOCO Chardonnay + Local cheese and charcuterie selections
LIOCO's Chardonnay is the restrained, site-driven kind — no butter bomb, real acidity. Against a good aged cheese or a little cured meat, it finds its footing instantly without either element overpowering the other.
🎲 The Bottom Line
LIOCO is doing something genuinely interesting in a town full of places that aren't. If you only do one tasting room stop in Healdsburg, make a strong case for this being it.

Hazel Hill is legitimately one of the better resort wine programs in California wine country — deep list, proper staff, and a setting that earns the splurge. The markups are real and the vibe is unabashedly luxe, but if you're already in Healdsburg, this is worth the stop.
