The wine list at Ladera Grill reads like a love letter to California — and we mean that in the best possible way. Ridge, Jordan, Stag's Leap, Testarossa: this is a list curated by someone who actually knows the state's heavy hitters. For a neighborhood grill in Morgan Hill, that's not nothing.
The list runs 80 to 120 bottles deep, with California firmly in the driver's seat and almost no interest in getting off the highway. You'll find solid representation from Napa and Sonoma — Duckhorn Cab, Jordan, Stag's Leap Artemis — alongside some local pride with Morgan Winery repping the Santa Cruz Mountains. Don't come here hunting for Burgundy or Barolo; the old world gets a polite nod at best. But if you want well-chosen California producers at prices that don't make you do math on your phone under the table, Ladera's got you.
Twelve to eighteen pours by the glass keeps options genuinely useful rather than performatively long. At $10 to $18 a glass, you can actually work through a few without the bill becoming the main character of dinner. The rotation doesn't appear to change aggressively, but what's there is dependable.
Stag's Leap Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 — $72
Artemis is a legitimate Napa Cab from one of the valley's most storied houses — the kind of wine that typically gets marked up into triple digits at restaurants with better lighting than food. At $72, Ladera is playing it straight, and that deserves recognition.
Morgan Winery
Most tables at Ladera will reach for the Jordan or the Duckhorn on autopilot. Don't sleep on Morgan Winery — a Santa Cruz Mountains producer right in the restaurant's backyard that doesn't get nearly enough credit outside of local circles. It's the most interesting story on the list.
Duckhorn Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
At $95, Duckhorn is a fine bottle — but it's also one of the most widely available Napa Cabs in America. You can find it everywhere. The Stag's Leap Artemis delivers a comparable experience at $23 less, and frankly tells a better story.
Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 + Grilled Ribeye Steak
Jordan's Cab is built around elegance rather than extraction — cedar, dark cherry, firm structure without being a bruiser. That temperament makes it a natural against a ribeye off the grill: enough backbone to cut through the fat, enough finesse to let the beef do the talking.
Wednesday — Half-price wine night every Wednesday — the single best reason to rearrange your week around dinner at Ladera.

Ladera Grill isn't trying to be a wine destination, but it's a genuinely solid neighborhood spot with a California-focused list that punches above its zip code — especially on Wednesday when half-price wine night makes everything look smarter. RH Yountville is a genuinely beautiful place to drink wine — the room earns that much on atmosphere alone, and the California-forward list will keep most guests happy without any friction. But in Yountville, where the competition includes some of the most serious wine programs in the country, 'happy without friction' isn't the same as memorable. Go for the experience, order confidently by region, and don't expect the list to surprise you.
