You're sitting on the Embarcadero with the Bay in front of you and a ceviche on the way — the wine list doesn't need to be extraordinary to feel good here. It leans toward Spain and France with some California thrown in, which is fine but not particularly adventurous for a restaurant serving this kind of food. The list is functional, not exciting.
The regional focus on Spain, France, and California makes sense on paper — all three produce wines that can handle acid-forward, citrusy Peruvian dishes — but we'd love to see more South American representation given the concept. A Peruvian restaurant that doesn't dig into Argentine Torrontés or Chilean Sauvignon Blanc is leaving something on the table. The list seems to skew toward safe crowd-pleasers rather than anything that would make a wine-focused diner sit up straighter. It covers the bases, but doesn't go hunting.
We don't have a confirmed count on glass pours here, but the program's general character suggests a standard by-the-glass lineup of familiar grapes in familiar price brackets. Don't expect a rotating or seasonal glass program — what's on that list today is probably what's been on it for a while.
The Bottom Line
La Mar is a great dinner — the ceviche alone is worth the trip — but the wine list is along for the ride rather than driving it. Order something crisp and cold, enjoy the view, and don't overthink it.

The Rotunda is a lunch experience first and a wine destination a distant second — the list is safe, the markup is real, and you're largely paying for the address and the atmosphere. Come for the crab salad and the occasion, order something bubbly, and don't go in expecting a serious wine program.

Bodega SF is what happens when someone actually gives a damn about the list instead of just checking a box. Twenty-six bottles, almost all pourable by the glass, priced fairly, and built around grapes most wine bars wouldn't dare touch — send your adventurous friends here and tell them to skip the safe picks.
