Wingman Metrics
Walk into Jackson Avenue Pub and you're greeted by a wall of TVs and the smell of something good on the grill β the wine list is almost beside the point. Almost. Tucked into the drink menu is a short but competent lineup that punches above its sports-bar weight class.
At 10β12 wines total, this is not a deep list β nobody's hiding a Barolo back here. What you get is a reliable greatest-hits set: Whispering Angel RosΓ© from CΓ΄tes de Provence for the table that wants to feel fancy, Barone Fini Pinot Grigio from Valdadige for the crowd pleasers, and Meiomi Pinot Noir and Josh Cabernet Sauvignon holding down the California corner. Imagery Chardonnay rounds out the whites with a bit more personality than the average pub pour. Italy and California do the heavy lifting; don't come looking for Burgundy or Rioja.
The entire list is essentially a by-the-glass program β virtually everything available pours by the glass, which is the right call for a pub where nobody's committing to a full bottle between innings. Pours run $9β$15, which is reasonable for downtown Naperville.
Avissi Prosecco DOC NV β $11/glass
Retails for the same $11 you're paying per glass β that's basically drinking at cost. For a pub setting, that's a genuinely good deal on a clean, crowd-friendly bubbly.
Whispering Angel RosΓ©
Yes, it's everywhere. But at a burger pub where the default move is a domestic draft, ordering a glass of Whispering Angel is a quietly good call β it's light enough to work with anything on the menu and the staff actually knows what it is.
Josh Cabernet Sauvignon
Josh Cab is the wine equivalent of a stock photo β technically fine, impossible to hate, completely forgettable. At $13β$15 a glass, you can do better with the same budget elsewhere on this list.
Meiomi Pinot Noir + Gourmet Burger
Meiomi's soft fruit and low tannin don't fight with a juicy burger the way a big Cab would β it lets the beef do the talking while still giving you something to sip between bites.
Wednesday β Wine Wednesdays: all by-the-glass pours at half price. Also includes $5 pub sangrias. Specific exclusions not listed β worth asking at the bar.
π² The Bottom Line
Jackson Avenue Pub is not a wine destination, but Wine Wednesdays at half-price make it a legitimately smart stop if you're already there for a burger and a game. Come for the beer, stay for the deal.
Freedom Commons / I-88 Corridor Β· Naperville Β· Seafood and Steakhouse
Hugo's Naperville is a reliable, well-run steakhouse wine program that will not let you down and will not excite you. Come for the prime beef and oysters, order the Jordan or the Duckhorn, and don't look too hard at the markup on the Pinot Grigio.

Fat Rosie's is a genuinely fun taco and tequila spot that has no business being reviewed for its wine β and that's kind of the point. If your table wants wine, order cocktails instead and save everyone the disappointment.

Vasili's isn't trying to be a wine destination, but the Greek-focused list has enough genuine producers and interesting grapes to reward curious drinkers β especially on Tuesdays when the bottles go half-price. Watch the markups on the Agiorgitiko, lean into the northern Greek reds and the Malagousia, and you'll eat and drink very well along that riverwalk.

Lou Malnati's is a legitimately iconic pizza destination β but the wine list is an afterthought, marked up on cheap bottles with zero curation or ambition. Come for the deep dish, drink beer, and save the wine night for somewhere that cares.

Hotel Arista / CityGate Centre Β· Naperville Β· Italian
Che Figata is the rare suburban hotel restaurant with a wine list worth actually engaging with β Italian-focused, sommelier-guided, and broad enough to reward exploration. The markups sting on a few bottles, but the range and program depth make this the best wine bet in Naperville's CityGate orbit.
