Wingman Metrics
Six wines. That's the list. Chardonnay, Prosecco, Merlot, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon — no producers named, no vintages, no prices visible, nothing to indicate anyone spent more than fifteen minutes putting this together. This is a beer hall that technically has wine on the menu, and it shows.
The six wines listed read like someone typed 'most common wine varietals' into a search bar and called it a day. There are no producers named, no regions identified beyond the varietal labels themselves, and no indication of any curation happening here. To be fair, the Riesling is at least genre-appropriate for a German-themed restaurant — but whether it's a bone-dry Mosel or a semi-sweet grocery shelf bottle is anyone's guess. The other five slots are pure defensive pours: wines chosen so no one complains, not so anyone gets excited.
The website lists all six wines under a 'Wine by the Glass' section, which suggests everything is available by the pour — though no glass prices are published. With a list this thin, the full-bottle-versus-glass distinction barely matters. You're getting whatever house pour lands in front of you.
The Bottom Line
Hofbräuhaus Gatlinburg is here to sell you a liter of beer in a giant mug, and honestly, that's the right call. The wine program is six unlabeled varietals with no pricing transparency and zero evidence of anyone tending to it with care. Order the Märzen, skip the wine.
· Gatlinburg · Seafood
Chesapeake's Gatlinburg isn't trying to win a wine award, and it doesn't need to — the list is honest, the pricing is fair for what it is, and the white wine depth is genuinely appropriate for a seafood restaurant. If you're in Gatlinburg and want a bottle that won't break the bank or embarrass you, you can do a lot worse than landing on that Dry Creek Chenin Blanc.

Ole Red is a concert venue and bar that happens to have wine on the menu — and it shows. If you're in Gatlinburg for live music and cold beer, this place probably delivers. If you're looking to drink well, skip the wine entirely and order a cocktail or a local beer. There are better uses for your $10.

· Gatlinburg · Italian
A five-bottle wine list at an Italian restaurant with zero Italian wines on it is not a wine program — it's a placeholder. If you're in Gatlinburg and wine matters to you tonight, this isn't your stop. The October wine dinner series is genuinely interesting and worth watching, but the everyday list doesn't give us enough to recommend making wine a priority here.

Dick's Last Resort is a novelty dining experience built around rude service and tourist energy — and the wine list is consistent with that brand in the worst possible way. Skip the wine entirely, order a beer or a bucket cocktail, and save your wine curiosity for literally anywhere else in the Smokies.

Bootleggers is a Gatlinburg curiosity worth a stop if you're already in town and in the right headspace — which is to say, relaxed, not taking yourself too seriously, and maybe still a little sunburned from the afternoon. Don't come looking for a serious wine program; do come if you want to try something local, weird, and made with actual intent.

Come for the crawfish and the balcony view, skip the wine list entirely — or grab a $6 Pinot Grigio and make peace with it. This is a cocktail-and-beer spot that happens to have a few bottles of grocery store wine on the menu.

The Bavarian is worth the trip for the schnitzel, the pretzels, and the alpine atmosphere — just don't come here for the wine. Order a Glühwein, embrace the vibe, and save your serious wine drinking for back in town.

Prost isn't a wine destination — it's a biergarten that respects its theme enough to put a coherent German wine list on the table. The Thirsty Thursday bottle deal is legitimately good, and if you show up on the right night with the right dish, you'll leave happier than you expected.

Helga's is a beer hall that happens to sell wine, and the list reflects exactly that level of effort. Come for the schnitzel and the steins — but if you need a glass of wine, the Dr. Loosen won't let you down.
