Wednesday Nights Just Got A Lot More Interesting

Wingman Metrics
The list reads exactly like you'd expect from a Spokane steakhouse — Washington and California heavyweights, familiar labels, nothing that'll make your heart race. But before you write it off, flip to the specials page and circle Wednesday on your calendar.
Durant's leans hard into the Pacific Northwest calling card: Columbia Valley and Walla Walla Cabs anchor the bottle list, with California reinforcements from the usual suspects — Duckhorn, Cakebread, Franciscan Oakville. The range runs 60-100 bottles, which sounds respectable until you realize it's mostly a parade of names you've seen on every restaurant list between here and Portland. There's no real adventure here — no grower Champagne, no Rhône varietal sneak, no funky Walla Walla outlier to make things interesting. If you want terroir exploration, you're on your own.
Ten to sixteen pours on any given night, which is a solid number for a steakhouse. The glass program leans predictably toward Cabs and Chards, with Meiomi Pinot Noir and Kim Crawford Sauv Blanc rounding out the approachable end. Rotation doesn't appear to be aggressive — this feels more like a set list than a living program.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Canoe Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 — $16/glass
A 120% markup on a $25 retail bottle isn't thrilling, but by Durant's standards it's the most honest pour on the list. The Canoe Ridge is a genuinely good Columbia Valley Cab — structured, food-friendly, and earned its reputation. Next to a $22 Cakebread glass marked up nearly 190%, this one's doing the heavy lifting.
Franciscan Oakville Estate Chardonnay 2022
Nobody orders Franciscan when Cakebread is on the menu, and that's exactly why you should. The markup is among the lowest on the list at 64% over retail, and the Oakville Estate Chard is a legitimately well-made, balanced California white. Let your tablemates pay $22 for Cakebread while you get nearly the same quality at $14.
Duckhorn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
At $28 a glass on a bottle that retails for $60, you're paying a 200% markup for the comfort of a recognizable name. Duckhorn is a fine wine, but not at this math — especially when Wednesday half-price night makes the bottle equation more palatable. If it's not Wednesday, skip it.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Canoe Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 + Dry-aged ribeye
A Columbia Valley Cab built on dark fruit and firm tannins is exactly what a fatty, intensely flavored dry-aged ribeye is asking for. The wine's structure cuts through the richness while keeping everything in the same Pacific Northwest family. This is the pairing Durant's was designed around.
Wednesday — Half-price bottles of wine all night, every Wednesday.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Durant's isn't a wine destination, but it's a perfectly functional steakhouse list — and that Wednesday half-price bottle night is a genuine reason to show up. Order smart, avoid the high-markup prestige pours, and you'll drink well enough with your ribeye.

West Downtown / Riverside · Spokane · Barbecue / American Tavern
The Blackbird is a genuinely good barbecue tavern that simply doesn't care about wine, and the steep markups on uninspired bottles make that indifference expensive. Come for the smoked meats and a cold beer — if you insist on wine, grab the Milbrandt and move on.

Downtown Spokane · Spokane · Fondue / Upscale Casual
The Melting Pot Spokane isn't a wine destination, and it's not trying to be — but the Washington State anchors on this list are genuinely good, and if you stick to those, you'll drink well enough for the occasion. Come for the fondue experience, order the Ste. Michelle, and save the serious wine night for somewhere else.

Downtown Spokane · Spokane · Hotel cocktail bar and lounge with small plates
1919 won't blow any minds, but for a hotel bar in downtown Spokane it earns genuine respect for keeping Washington State producers front and center. Come for the room, stay for the Beresan — just don't expect any surprises in the pricing.

The Grand Terrace Bar is a great place to drink wine in Spokane — just not necessarily great wine. Come for the skyline, order the Riesling, and save the serious bottle hunting for elsewhere.

Barrister is a genuine Wild Card: a serious urban winery tucked into Spokane's rail district that most wine travelers blow past on their way to Walla Walla. If you're in eastern Washington and you haven't stopped here, you owe yourself a visit.

Outback Laredo's wine program is a national chain doing national chain things — predictable, overpriced relative to quality, and staffed by people who aren't expected to know anything about what they're pouring. Come for the Bloomin' Onion, stick to a cocktail, and save the wine order for somewhere that cares.

Logan's Roadhouse is not a wine destination — it's a steakhouse chain where wine clearly wasn't part of the concept. Order a beer, order a cocktail, and save the bottle for a restaurant that's actually trying.

Texas Roadhouse Laredo is a great spot for a $17 steak and a bucket of rolls — the wine list is an afterthought and everyone involved knows it. Order a margarita, or grab the Ste. Michelle Riesling and call it a night.
