Six Bottles Does Not a Wine List Make

Wingman Metrics
What we have here isn't really a wine list — it's a lineup card for a Joe Wagner brand showcase dinner. Six labels, all California, all from the same producer family, with no pricing context available and no indication this reflects the restaurant's everyday program.
The evidence we have comes from a single wine dinner event page, not the restaurant's standing list, which means what's documented here is essentially a curated promotional menu rather than a true selection. All six wines are California-focused and lean heavily on the Wagner Family portfolio — Belle Glos and Böen on the lighter side, Westhoff and Quilt holding down the red end. That's a coherent dinner format, but as a picture of what you'll actually find on a Tuesday night in The Woodlands, it tells us almost nothing. There are no Old World options, no sparkling, and no rosé in sight beyond the Belle Glos Blanc de Noir.
By-the-glass options are completely undocumented in our research, so we can't tell you what's available on any given evening. If this event dinner is any indication of the restaurant's sensibility, expect California-heavy pours with limited range. Confirm with the server before you sit down.
The Bottom Line
We're working with event-night evidence, not a full house list, so drawing firm conclusions about Del Frisco's Grille's everyday wine program would be dishonest. What we can say is that a six-wine promotional dinner built around one producer family isn't a reason to make this your wine destination. Come for the steakhouse experience — but don't expect the wine list to be the main event.

Fogo de Chão The Woodlands runs a focused, all-South American wine list at prices that are genuinely refreshing for a steakhouse format — nearly everything sits under $35. It's not adventurous, and it won't impress anyone looking for Old World depth, but if you're here for the meat and want a solid bottle to match without getting gouged, this list does the job honestly.

The Woodlands · The Woodlands · Indian
Amrina is the most surprising wine list in The Woodlands and probably the most ambitious Indian restaurant wine program in Texas — the French and California heavy-hitters are real, the glass pour selection is generous, and the whole thing earns its Wine Spectator hardware. The markups lean steep and the food-friendly white wine options need work, but if you're willing to spend, there's genuinely exciting drinking to be done here.

Eddie Merlot's is a dependable upscale steakhouse that delivers on the beef side of the equation. The wine program appears to be functional rather than inspired — a crowd-pleasing list built to sell confidently, not to excite. If you're coming for a business dinner or a straightforward date night and want a Napa Cab with your prime-aged ribeye, you'll be just fine. If you want something to talk about on the drive home, you might need to bring your own bottle or do a little pre-visit homework.

Eddie Merlot's is a competent, predictable steakhouse wine program — it'll get the job done for a business dinner or a birthday without embarrassing anyone, but it isn't a destination for serious wine drinkers. The markups at this category of restaurant tend to run steep relative to retail, so go in with calibrated expectations and focus your budget on the steak, where this place clearly puts its heart.

What we have here is a wine program that either doesn't try very hard or hasn't been documented well enough to make a case for itself — and neither is a good look. The six wines we can confirm are all tied to a single brand dinner, which means the everyday list remains a mystery. Until Del Frisco's Grille Brentwood shows us a real, standing wine program with range and honest pricing, we'd steer you toward the cocktail menu.
