Fifteen bottles on the list sounds thin until you actually read the list. Corner Wines isn't trying to be everything — it's curated with a clear point of view, and that point of view involves a lot of Greek wine, which we are absolutely here for. In Plano, Texas, that counts as a minor act of rebellion.
The list splits its attention between familiar Pacific Northwest and California Pinot territory and a genuinely deep Greek wine section that most Dallas-area restaurants wouldn't dare attempt. You've got Markovitis Xinomavro from Naoussa, Palivou Estate Nemea Red, Gavalas Blue from Santorini, and the Manousakis Nostos Alexandra's — that's not an accident, that's a philosophy. The Burgundy nod comes via Dom de la Beche Morgon VV 2020, and Italy checks in with two Brunellos (Ciacci Piccolomini and Renieri) sitting near the top of the price range. The list skips a lot of expected categories — no real Champagne presence, no Riesling, thin on whites — but what's here is chosen with intention.
By-the-glass specifics aren't published, which is a miss for a wine bar format where pour options can make or break a visit. If the bottle list is the guide, you'd hope for at least a rotating glass pour of the Assyrtiko or the Morgon — those are the kinds of wines that convert people. We'd call ahead before banking on a by-the-glass program.
Dom de la Beche Morgon VV 2020 — $21
A Gamay from old vines in Morgon for $21 is hard to argue with. Beaujolais Cru at this price point usually runs $18-$28 retail, so there's almost no markup here. It's the steal on the list and an easy entry point for anyone who thinks they don't like Gamay.
Markovitis Xinomavro Naoussa
Xinomavro is Greece's answer to Nebbiolo — structured, earthy, high acid, built to age — and most people have never heard of it. At $30.89, the Markovitis from Naoussa is a real wine for wine-curious people who want something they can't find on every list in the suburbs. This is why you came here.
Palivou Estate Ploutos
At $78.89 it's the most expensive bottle on the list, and while Palivou is a solid Greek producer, this is a significant jump from everything else. Without knowing the vintage or more context, it's hard to justify the leap when the Ciacci Piccolomini Brunello is sitting right there at $76 and has a longer track record at that price.
Wine Art Idisma Drios Assyrtiko + Charcuterie or cheese board
Assyrtiko from the Wine Art Estate is dry, mineral, and bracingly acidic — it cuts through fat and salt like it was designed for it. On a cheese and charcuterie spread (a reasonable assumption for a wine bar format), it's the white you want in your glass. At $28.89 it's also an easy yes.
The Bottom Line
Corner Wines is a small list doing big things, especially if Greek varietals are your thing or you've been wanting to get into them. The value is real, the curation is genuine, and in Plano of all places, that earns some serious points.

Flamant is a genuinely nice place to drink wine in Plano — the setting does a lot of the heavy lifting, and the Iberian-French focus is a smart identity to build around. The list just needs more courage and more transparency to fully match the room.
