Wingman Metrics
Cork N Crust pitches itself as a wine bar first, pizza joint second — and the room earns that billing with cozy couches, patio seating, and a list that clocks over 20 by-the-glass options. That's a real commitment for a neighborhood spot across the river from Cincinnati. The vibe is relaxed and approachable, which tells you everything you need to know about what kind of wine list to expect.
The list pulls from Italy, Germany, France, Argentina, California, and Washington — decent geographic spread on paper, but the producers lean heavily toward grocery store staples like Cavit, Seaglass, and Santa Margherita. There's nothing wrong with a crowd-pleasing Pinot Grigio, but when three of your Italian whites are basically the same wine from different labels, the depth starts to feel more like width. The Klinker Brick Zinfandel and Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling are legitimate bright spots — actual producers with identity — but they're outnumbered by the safe picks. A little more curation and fewer Pinot Grigios would go a long way.
Twenty-plus by-the-glass options sounds impressive until you realize a chunk of them are Pinot Grigio variations fighting for the same table. At $14 a glass, you're paying a fair mid-range price, and the rotation does include some interesting picks like the Heinz Eifel Riesling and Spinelli Montepulciano that give you something to work with beyond the obvious. The breadth is there — the adventure, not so much.
Klinker Brick Zinfandel — $52
Yes, the markup is steep at 160% over retail, but relative to everything else on this list, Klinker Brick is the bottle with the most actual character — bold, ripe, and built for pizza. If you're splitting a bottle at the table, this is your move.
Heinz Eifel Riesling
Most people at a pizza spot are reaching for red, but the Heinz Eifel Riesling is a genuine German Riesling at a price point that keeps it accessible. Off-dry, zippy, and cuts right through a fatty flatbread or smoked wing. It gets overlooked every time someone orders a Pinot Grigio instead.
Cavit Pinot Grigio
You can find Cavit at every grocery store in America for under $12. At restaurant markup, you're paying a serious premium for a wine that's fine — technically, unobjectionably fine — but has no business being your splurge at a wine bar. Spend the same money on something with a pulse.
Spinelli Montepulciano + Fig Jam Flatbread
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo has that rustic, earthy fruit that plays perfectly against the sweet-savory tension of fig jam. It doesn't fight the cheese, doesn't overwhelm the flatbread — it just fits the way a good house red should.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Cork N Crust is a solid neighborhood wine bar doing honest work with an approachable list — just don't show up expecting to be surprised. If you want a glass or two with great pizza in a low-key setting, it delivers; if you're hunting for something interesting to drink, you'll need to dig past the Pinot Grigio section.
Downtown · Cincinnati · Steakhouse
Ruth's Chris Cincinnati is a reliable, well-stocked steakhouse list that delivers exactly what it promises — big California reds, proper storage, and a bottle for every budget above $50. Just don't come expecting discovery; come expecting execution.

Over-the-Rhine · Cincinnati · Tapas / Mediterranean-inspired small plates
Abigail Street is a Wild Card because nobody walks into a tapas spot in OTR expecting Lebanese orange wines and Champagne from Bollinger — but here we are. The markup math on the tap program stings, but the top half of this list is doing real work and earns a recommendation.

North / Kenwood area · Cincinnati · New American / Grill & Wine Bar
Seasons 52 Cincinnati is a chain wine program that punches above its weight class on volume and actually tries — Monday half-price bottles are a legitimate reason to show up on a specific night. Just go in knowing this is a crowd-pleaser list, not a discovery list, and you'll leave satisfied.

Mason · Cincinnati · West Coast–style American (brunch-focused cafe)
Maplewood Mason isn't a wine destination, but it's not trying to be — the list is fair, accessible, and has just enough personality (Stolpman, Jezebel Blanc) to keep it from being totally forgettable. If you're here for brunch, grab a glass and don't overthink it.

Hyde Park · Cincinnati · Italian (housemade pasta, wood-fired pizza)
Forno Hyde Park is a reliable neighborhood wine program that doesn't embarrass itself — solid Italian range, reasonable glass pours, and a Wood-Down Wednesday deal that genuinely changes the math on the better bottles. The markups on everyday bottles are hard to ignore, but if you time it right and order smart, there's a real dinner here.

Chart House delivers exactly what it promises: a reliable, unadventurous wine list in a spectacular waterfront setting. Come for the view and the lobster bisque — just don't expect the wine list to match the scenery.
