You're sitting in a winery restaurant — an actual winery — and the wine list has six options. All $8. That's it. The irony would be funny if it weren't so deflating.
Cooper's Hawk makes its own wine, and this 'Wine O'Clock' list pulls from that house portfolio exclusively — a Prosecco, a Tempranillo, a Super Tuscan, a Shiraz, an Abrillante, and something called CHMX. The regional spread looks international on paper, but these are all Cooper's Hawk-produced labels, so you're not actually exploring Italy or Spain — you're exploring one winery's interpretation of those styles. There's no third-party producer, no single-vineyard anything, no depth to compare against. If you wanted to drink something outside the Cooper's Hawk universe tonight, that's simply not an option.
Six pours, all $8, no rotation evident. The uniform price point is easy on the wallet but signals a program built for simplicity, not curiosity. There's no incentive to explore when every glass costs the same and every bottle comes from the same source.
Super Tuscan — $8
At $8 a glass, a Super Tuscan-style blend is the most ambitious pour on the list — Sangiovese-forward structure at a price that's hard to argue with, even if it's the house version.
Abrillante
It's the most obscure name on the list and most tables will default to the Prosecco or Shiraz. If you ask about it, you might get an interesting answer — or at least a conversation worth having.
Prosecco
House Prosecco at a chain winery restaurant is the path of least resistance. It'll be fine, but it's the most generic move on a list that's already playing it extremely safe.
Tempranillo + Ask your server about any red-meat or charcuterie option on the menu
Tempranillo's earthy backbone and moderate tannin make it the most food-versatile red on this list — it'll do more work alongside anything savory than the Shiraz will.
The Bottom Line
Cooper's Hawk is built around wine, which makes a six-bottle, one-price list feel like a missed opportunity of almost comedic proportions. Come for the concept, manage your expectations accordingly.

Entourage earns its stripes as a genuinely thoughtful suburban wine list — fair pricing, more depth than the address suggests, and a by-the-glass program that actually tries. We'd send a friend here without hesitation, especially if they're willing to wander past the Chardonnay section.

Quiubo's wine list is short, safe, and priced reasonably enough that it won't ruin your night — but it won't add anything to it either. Stick to the Juan Gil or the Cava, enjoy your tacos, and don't come here expecting the wine to be part of the experience.

Francesca's Passaggio is a dependable suburban Italian wine list — white-wine-heavy, Italian-accented, and priced on the steeper side, but with enough interesting bottles to reward a little menu exploration. Send a friend here if they want a pleasant, fuss-free dinner with a solid glass of something Italian; send a serious wine person elsewhere.

Hugo's Naperville is a reliable, well-run steakhouse wine program that will not let you down and will not excite you. Come for the prime beef and oysters, order the Jordan or the Duckhorn, and don't look too hard at the markup on the Pinot Grigio.
