Wingman Metrics
A wine bar in Irving, Texas sounds like a setup for a punchline — but Clink earns a second look. The list clocks in at 29 labels, a lean but intentional lineup that leans on wine-on-tap for its by-the-glass program, which is either clever or lazy depending on the execution. Spoiler: it's mostly clever.
The list moves across enough ground to keep things interesting without trying to be everything to everyone. You've got Argentine Malbec from Santa Julia sitting next to an Austrian Gruner Veltliner from Pratsch, a Cabernet Franc from Gaia, and a Garnacha from Anciano — that's more regional range than most DFW suburban wine bars will show you. The Cab-heavy anchor is predictable for Texas, but the outliers here are what make it worth your time. Inglenook's Cabernet Sauvignon tops the list at $140, which is a serious bottle for a place like this — though it also signals some real ambition. Gaps exist: no skin-contact wines, no real bubbles depth, and the list skews heavily red.
With 24 of 29 labels available by the glass, this is essentially an all-glass program — and that's a defining feature. The on-tap format keeps pours fresh and waste down, which is a legitimate benefit at this price tier. Glass pours running $5–$7 are frankly hard to argue with, and getting Stoller Pinot Noir or Oberon Cab at those prices by the glass is a genuine win.
Stoller Pinot Noir — $57
Stoller is a legitimate Willamette Valley producer, and at $57 a bottle — or available by the glass for the standard pour price — you're drinking real Oregon Pinot without the typical restaurant markup. This is the move.
Pratsch Gruner Veltliner
Most people at a Texas wine bar are scanning for Cabs. The Pratsch Gruner Veltliner at $48 is the sleeper on this list — crisp, food-friendly, and from a solid Austrian producer. In a room full of red drinkers, this bottle is probably the best-kept secret on the menu.
Inglenook Cabernet Sauvignon
At $140, it's the prestige anchor on the list and Inglenook is a storied name — but this is a tapas-and-tap-wine spot in Irving. That bottle belongs in a different room. Unless someone else is paying, the Oberon or Altocedro Cab will do 90% of the same work for a fraction of the price.
Gaia Cabernet Franc + Charcuterie or cured meat bites
Cab Franc's savory, herbaceous edge and lighter tannin structure makes it a natural match for a charcuterie spread — which is exactly the kind of bite a wine bar like this should be serving. It cuts through fat without overwhelming the palate.
The Bottom Line
Clink punches above its suburban zip code — fair prices, an on-tap program that keeps pours honest, and just enough regional variety to make the list interesting. If you're in Irving and want a real glass of wine, this is where you go.
Las Colinas · Irving · New American / Tavern
Cork & Pig Las Colinas is a genuinely solid wine program dressed in tavern clothes — the by-the-glass depth alone earns it a bookmark. Don't let the name fool you; there's real thought behind this list.

Las Colinas · Irving · Cajun / Southern
Po Melvin's is almost certainly cooking something worth eating — the wine list just isn't part of the experience. Order the Riesling or Prosecco if you want wine, otherwise stick to a cold beer or whatever's on tap.

Valley Ranch · Irving · Japanese sushi and Asian fusion
The Blue Fish is a fun night out, and the food holds up — but the wine list is running on autopilot. Order the Mumm Napa, enjoy your rolls, and don't expect the list to surprise you.

Las Colinas / Toyota Music Factory · Irving · Modern American
The Henry Las Colinas isn't a destination for wine lovers, but it's a genuinely solid neighborhood option with fair pricing and a Tuesday half-price program that makes the whole conversation more interesting. Show up on a Tuesday, order the Jordan, and stop overthinking it.

Irving Mall Area · Irving · Cajun / Creole
Razzoo's Irving is a great place to eat Cajun food and drink cold beer — the wine program is incidental and treated as such. If your table insists on wine, the Prosecco is your safest exit ramp.

Grimaldi's is worth the trip for the coal-fired pizza; the wine list is not worth thinking about. Order the Chianti or the Nero d'Avola, don't look at the markup math, and focus on the pizza.

Downtown Lodi · Lodi · Wine Bar / Tapas
Cellardoor is exactly what a downtown wine bar in a wine region should be: unpretentious, locally rooted, and priced like they actually want you to come back. If you're driving through Lodi and think wine country is just Napa, this place will correct that assumption fast.

Downtown Lakeland · Lakeland · Wine Bar / Tapas
The Pink Piano is a genuinely fun night out in Lakeland, but the wine list is very much a supporting act — familiar labels, steep markups, and zero depth for anyone looking to explore. Hit it on a Wednesday, order by the glass, and let the live music do the heavy lifting.
