Wingman Metrics
Fifty wines by the glass at a beach bistro in Clearwater is not what we expected to find, and that number alone earns a second look. The list skews approachable but stretches wider than most spots twice its size. It's casual without being lazy — a distinction that matters more than it sounds on a strip built around frozen drinks.
The bottle list lands in the 150-200 range with solid representation across France, Italy, and California — the kind of multi-region spread that keeps a table of mixed drinkers happy without anyone compromising. Champagne is a genuine strength: Moët Impérial, Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label, Dom Pérignon, and Piper-Heidsieck Cuvée 1785 all show up, which is an unusually serious bubble lineup for a neighborhood bistro. The Mediterranean and Mexican-leaning food menu creates some interesting tension with the list — not everything connects — but there's enough here to find the right bottle if you poke around. Gaps exist on the deeper end: no obvious Old World standouts beyond Champagne, and the regional specificity thins out fast.
Fifty by-the-glass options is genuinely impressive and frankly unheard of at this price point and zip code. We don't have a full breakdown of every pour, but that volume means you're not stuck choosing between Pinot Grigio and a Cab that's been open since Tuesday. A list this wide by the glass suggests some rotation — whether the staff can navigate it confidently is a different question.
Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut — Market
Veuve at a beach bistro that actually stocks it properly is a win. It's a crowd-pleasing Champagne that rarely disappoints, and if the markup is in line with the rest of the list — which appears to be the case — you're getting a dependable bottle without the hotel bar penalty.
Piper-Heidsieck Cuvée 1785
Most people at this place are ordering the Moët or Veuve on autopilot. Piper-Heidsieck's Cuvée 1785 is the more interesting Champagne in the lineup — it has more energy and personality than its famous neighbors and most diners skip right past it.
Zonin Prosecco
Zonin is grocery store Prosecco dressed up on a wine bar menu. When there's a Dom Pérignon and a Piper-Heidsieck on the same list, spending money on Zonin is a missed opportunity. It's there for the price-sensitive order, but don't let that be you.
Chandon Brut Rosé + Enchiladas
The slight sweetness and fruit-forward structure of Chandon Brut Rosé cuts through the richness of enchilada sauce without fighting the spice. It's a casual bottle for a casual dish, and the bubbles do real work here keeping the palate fresh.
Wednesday — Spaghetti & Wine Wednesday — 50% off all U.S. wine bottles every Wednesday. The discount applies to the full domestic bottle selection, not just a short list.
🎲 The Bottom Line
This is the best wine program you're likely to find within walking distance of Clearwater Beach, and that's not faint praise — it's a genuine destination for the wine-curious crowd that usually has to settle for whatever's on draft. Wednesday's half-price U.S. bottle deal seals it: show up, order spaghetti, drink better than you planned.
Westshore · Clearwater · Fine-dining steakhouse
The Capital Grille is a reliable machine — the wine program is competent, well-staffed, and properly executed, but the markups are steep and the list plays it extremely safe. Send a friend here for a business dinner, but tell them to order Jordan before anyone at the table reaches for the Opus One.

Fleming's is a reliable machine — excellent execution, real wine depth by-the-glass, staff that knows the list, and no surprises in a bad way. Just don't expect discovery; expect comfort, and budget accordingly for markup.

Indian Rocks Beach · Clearwater · Seafood / American
Guppy's won't win any awards for adventurous curation, but the list is fairly priced, thoughtfully stocked for a seafood crowd, and broad enough that everyone at the table finds something. Send a friend here for the grouper and tell them to drink the Cloudy Bay.

E&E Stakeout Grill is a perfectly decent neighborhood steakhouse wine list that asks too much on most nights — but Wine Wednesday flips the math entirely and makes this one of the better value plays in the Clearwater area. Come on a Wednesday, order the Chianti Classico, and you'll have zero complaints.

Carrabba's Clearwater is a solid, honest chain wine program — fair prices, recognizable producers, nothing offensive. Send a friend here if they want Italian comfort food and an easy bottle of Chianti; don't send them if they're hoping to find something worth talking about.

Bonefish Grill Clearwater is a perfectly fine place to eat seafood and a genuinely bad place to spend money on a bottle of wine. Order by the glass, stick to the $9 pours, and save your wine budget for somewhere that earned it.
