The wine list at Carrabba's Clearwater does exactly what it promises: no surprises, no landmines. It's a tight, familiar roster built to make casual diners comfortable, and at these prices, you're not going to feel robbed. What you won't find is anything that makes you lean across the table and say 'you have to try this.'
The list leans into Italian-American crowd-pleasers — Ruffino Chianti Classico and Antinori Santa Cristina Sangiovese give it some legitimate Italian backbone, while Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio and Ecco Domani fill the white wine slots for guests who shop by label recognition. Domestic anchors like Meiomi Pinot Noir and Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay round out the familiar hits. At 40-60 selections there's enough range to cover your table, but don't come here looking for Abruzzo, Campania, or anything with a cork and a story. It's a list optimized for throughput, not discovery.
Ten to fourteen pours by the glass at $8-$14 is a reasonable spread for a casual chain, and the pricing won't give anyone sticker shock. The rotation appears static — this is a set-and-forget program, so don't count on seasonal additions or anything new showing up. If you're picking off the glass list, stick to the Italian selections; they're the most honest fit for the food.
Antinori Santa Cristina Sangiovese — $28
Antinori is a legit Tuscan producer, and Santa Cristina punches above its chain-restaurant placement. At the low end of the bottle range, it's a real wine at a fair price — not a bulk pour dressed up in a fancy label.
Ruffino Chianti Classico
Most tables here are going to grab Meiomi or KJ on autopilot. Ruffino Chianti Classico is the more interesting call — it's got the acidity and cherry-driven structure to actually cut through the tomato-heavy dishes, and it costs less than most guests expect.
Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio
Santa Margherita built its reputation decades ago and has been coasting on it ever since. You're paying a brand premium here, and for what you get in the glass, there's no justification — Ecco Domani does a similar job for less.
Ruffino Chianti Classico + Pasta Carrabba
Chianti Classico and a tomato-based pasta is not a revelation — it's just correct. The wine's bright acidity matches the sauce's tang, and the Sangiovese tannins don't fight the pasta the way a bigger red would.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Carrabba's Clearwater is a solid, honest chain wine program — fair prices, recognizable producers, nothing offensive. Send a friend here if they want Italian comfort food and an easy bottle of Chianti; don't send them if they're hoping to find something worth talking about.
Westshore · Clearwater · Fine-dining steakhouse
The Capital Grille is a reliable machine — the wine program is competent, well-staffed, and properly executed, but the markups are steep and the list plays it extremely safe. Send a friend here for a business dinner, but tell them to order Jordan before anyone at the table reaches for the Opus One.

Fleming's is a reliable machine — excellent execution, real wine depth by-the-glass, staff that knows the list, and no surprises in a bad way. Just don't expect discovery; expect comfort, and budget accordingly for markup.

Guppy's won't win any awards for adventurous curation, but the list is fairly priced, thoughtfully stocked for a seafood crowd, and broad enough that everyone at the table finds something. Send a friend here for the grouper and tell them to drink the Cloudy Bay.

E&E Stakeout Grill is a perfectly decent neighborhood steakhouse wine list that asks too much on most nights — but Wine Wednesday flips the math entirely and makes this one of the better value plays in the Clearwater area. Come on a Wednesday, order the Chianti Classico, and you'll have zero complaints.

Clearwater Beach · Clearwater · Mediterranean and Mexican-inspired wine bar and bistro
This is the best wine program you're likely to find within walking distance of Clearwater Beach, and that's not faint praise — it's a genuine destination for the wine-curious crowd that usually has to settle for whatever's on draft. Wednesday's half-price U.S. bottle deal seals it: show up, order spaghetti, drink better than you planned.

Bonefish Grill Clearwater is a perfectly fine place to eat seafood and a genuinely bad place to spend money on a bottle of wine. Order by the glass, stick to the $9 pours, and save your wine budget for somewhere that earned it.

Chef T's Garden Grill isn't trying to be a wine destination, but the list is broad enough to find something worth drinking, especially if you like Napa Cab with your dinner. Markups on the top-shelf bottles are a reason to pause, but the mid-tier options and solid by-the-glass count make this a reliable neighborhood pick rather than a reason to stay home.

Scarpa's punches well above its weight for a family-owned Italian spot in Lakeland — the Tuscany focus is genuine and the BTG count is legitimately impressive. The markups will sting if you're paying close attention, but the intent behind this list is hard to argue with.

Biaggi's is a reliable fallback when you want wine with dinner and don't want to think too hard — but steer toward the Italian bottles and ignore the California blockbusters your server will inevitably steer you toward. Not worth a special trip for the wine program, but not an embarrassment either.
