The wine list at Carrabba's Overland Park is exactly what you'd expect from a national Italian chain — familiar names, easy decisions, zero surprises. It's not trying to impress you, and honestly, it doesn't need to. What it does have going for it is Thursday, when half-price bottles turn a steep list into a genuinely decent deal.
The list runs 30-50 bottles leaning hard on California and Italy, which makes sense given the concept but leaves almost no room for adventure. You've got your Ruffino Chianti, your Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio, your Meiomi Pinot Noir — the Mount Rushmore of chain-restaurant wine. There's a flash of something real with the Allegrini Palazzo della Torre, an IGT blend from Veneto that punches above its weight, but otherwise this is a list built for people who order wine by grape variety, not producer. Gaps in Southern Italy, zero natural wine, no sparkling options beyond a Prosecco.
Ten to fourteen pours by the glass, priced $8–$12, which is fair enough on its face until you realize the Robert Mondavi Private Selection Cab is retailing at $11 a bottle. The BTG selection mirrors the bottle list — Kim Crawford, Meiomi, Santa Margherita — all perfectly drinkable, none particularly exciting. Rotation appears to be set-and-forget rather than seasonal, which tracks for a chain.
Allegrini Palazzo della Torre IGT — $48
At a 100% markup, it's the least-gouged bottle on the list and actually has something to say — a Corvina-forward blend from a serious Veneto producer. On Thursday at half price, it's a $24 bottle that drinks closer to $60. Order it.
Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay Russian River Ranches
Surrounded by grocery-store standbys, this one actually has a pedigree. Russian River fruit, cooler-climate restraint, and it's the one California white on the list that doesn't taste like it was assembled in a focus group. Most people here will reach for the Pinot Grigio — let them.
Robert Mondavi Private Selection Cabernet Sauvignon
At $34 a bottle with a 209% markup on an $11 retail wine, this is the worst value play on the list. You can buy two bottles at Total Wine for what they're charging here. Hard pass unless it's Thursday and even then, think twice.
Allegrini Palazzo della Torre IGT + Chicken Marsala
The Palazzo della Torre's dried-fruit richness and savory depth echo the Marsala wine reduction without fighting it — same flavor family, more complexity. It makes the dish taste more intentional than it probably is.
Thursday — Half-price bottles on most of the standard list during dinner hours. House wine and select reserve labels typically excluded. Best night to visit if wine matters to you at all.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Carrabba's wine list is a Lazy List wearing a Reliable's clothes — saved almost entirely by Thursday half-price bottles and one legitimately interesting producer in Allegrini. Go on a Thursday, order the Palazzo della Torre, and pretend you planned it that way.

Ruth's Chris Overland Park delivers exactly what it promises: a big, well-managed wine list staffed by people who know it, served in proper glassware at prices that will make you wince. Send a friend here for a business dinner or a celebration, but tell them to stick to the mid-tier California reds and leave the prestige bottles for someone else's tab.

Garozzo's isn't a wine destination, but it's a reliable Italian dinner with a list that won't embarrass you — especially if you show up on a Sunday. Half-price bottles up to $100 is a legitimate deal, and for a neighborhood Italian that's been around long enough to bottle its own Chianti, there's more to like here than the list length suggests.

The Cheesecake Factory's wine list exists to reduce friction, not create excitement — it's a corporate safety net dressed up as a wine program. Order the Decoy, enjoy your Chicken Madeira, and save your wine curiosity for somewhere that actually wants it.

Tavern at Mission Farms is a reliable neighborhood wine list — nothing that'll move you, but Wednesday half-price bottles flip the math entirely and make this worth a weekly habit. Come for the deal, not the depth.

Spin! Pizza is a perfectly fine place to eat pizza; the wine list is an afterthought that exists because restaurants need wine lists. Come on a Monday, order a bottle of Gnarly Head at half-price, and make peace with what this is.

La Bodega isn't trying to be a wine bar, but the half-price Monday and Thursday deals, Spain-focused list, and food-friendly pours make it the most fun you can have drinking wine with tapas in Kansas City. Go on a Thursday, order the Marqués de Cáceres, and don't overthink it.

This is a wine program by committee, for volume, not for pleasure. If someone at your table insists on wine, grab a glass while you're waiting to be seated and enjoy the half-price benefit — but don't plan your evening around what's in the glass.

Ciao Bella isn't going to blow any minds with its wine program, but it's honest, fairly priced, and the Wine Down Wednesday deal on bottles over $40 is legitimately one of the better weekly wine promos in the area. Show up on a Wednesday, order something Italian, and you'll leave happy.
