The list is short and entirely Broken Earth, which either feels focused or limiting depending on your mood. If you came here for range, you came to the wrong place; if you came here for a relaxed afternoon in Paso Robles with a glass of something local, you're exactly where you should be.
The list is essentially a vehicle for the Broken Earth estate lineup — Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Petite Sirah all sourced from Paso Robles. There's no outside representation, no guest producers, and no deep-dive into Paso's more adventurous varieties like Grenache or Vermentino. What you get is a clean, approachable portfolio that leans into Paso's strengths — big reds and a fruit-forward Chardonnay — without pushing any boundaries. For a winery restaurant, it's honest, but guests craving variety will hit a wall fast.
The by-the-glass program runs 8-12 options in the $14-$18 range, covering the full estate lineup without much redundancy. Pours are predictably the same wines you'd taste in the tasting room next door, so this doubles as a low-pressure way to sample before you buy bottles to take home. Broken Earth Petite Sirah, Paso Robles — $16
Petite Sirah at a winery restaurant in Paso is almost always priced close to retail, and this one delivers the inky, full-throttle character the variety is known for without the markup you'd see at a white-tablecloth spot across town.
Broken Earth Merlot, Paso Robles
Everyone reaches for the Cab, but the Merlot is quietly doing solid work here — rounder, more approachable, and underordered because Merlot still hasn't fully shaken its mid-2000s reputation. Worth a glass before you default to the obvious choice.
Broken Earth Chardonnay, Paso Robles
Central Coast Chardonnay at a casual pizza spot is rarely a revelation, and this one doesn't break the mold. It's fine, but spending $15-$18 a glass on a Chardonnay when the reds are clearly the house strength is a missed opportunity on your part.
Broken Earth Cabernet Sauvignon, Paso Robles + Flatbread
A charred, savory flatbread gives the Cab's dark fruit and firm tannins something to grip onto — the richness of the wine cuts through the fat while the pizza's crust handles the structure. It's a low-key combination that actually works.

The Spoon Trade has no business being this thoughtful about wine for a casual beach-town comfort food spot, and that's the whole point. If you're in Grover Beach and want a genuinely local glass with your fried chicken, this is a better bet than anything with a bigger wine list and a worse sense of place.
