Wednesday Saves You, The List Won't Wow You

The wine list at Bravo Italian Kitchen reads like a greatest hits album you've heard a hundred times — Santa Margherita, Meiomi, La Marca. It's not trying to surprise you, and it doesn't. What it does do is hand you a legible, approachable list that won't embarrass you in front of a first date, even if it won't impress a wine-savvy one.
Forty to sixty bottles sounds like room to explore, but the actual range here leans hard on safe Italian and California crowd-pleasers. Ruffino Chianti Classico is doing the heavy lifting on the Italian side, while Meiomi Pinot Noir is clearly there to catch anyone who defaults to 'something red from California.' There's no serious dive into regional Italian variety — no Aglianico, no Vermentino, no Nero d'Avola — and the list doesn't pretend otherwise. If you came here hoping to geek out on wine, you're at the wrong restaurant.
Ten to sixteen pours by the glass is a decent count for a casual chain, and the $7 Wine Wednesday promotion makes those pours genuinely worth grabbing. Outside of Wednesday, the glass prices aren't verified but expect standard chain markups that will sting a little. Rotation appears minimal — this is a set-and-forget glass program, not something that changes with the seasons.
Ruffino Chianti Classico — $7
On Wine Wednesday at $7 a glass, Ruffino Chianti Classico is the obvious move. It's a real wine from a real region with structure and food-friendliness that the rest of the list can't match at that price point.
La Marca Prosecco
Most people at a place like this order red or Pinot Grigio on autopilot. La Marca Prosecco is a smarter call — it's lively, versatile, and cuts through pasta and cream sauces better than that glass of Meiomi will. Order it at the start and you might not need to chase a second bottle.
Meiomi Pinot Noir
Meiomi is everywhere, and it's priced like it's somewhere special at a restaurant. At retail it's a $15 bottle; whatever you're paying here for a glass or a bottle, you're overpaying for a wine that tastes like grape jam and residual sugar. There are better options on this same list.
Ruffino Chianti Classico + Famous Happy Hour Burger
This is an unusual call, but Chianti Classico's acidity and light tannin structure actually work against a beef-forward burger better than any California Pinot on this list. The Sangiovese cuts grease, plays with the savory char, and holds its own without overpowering. Sometimes the Italian wine and the non-Italian dish is the right answer.
Wednesday — $7 Wine Wednesday every Wednesday; chain also runs weekday 3PM–6PM drink specials. No verified half-price bottle program.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Bravo Italian Kitchen isn't a wine destination, and it knows it — but $7 Wine Wednesday gives you a legitimate reason to show up on a weeknight and drink decently without doing math. Come for the deal, order the Chianti, and keep your expectations appropriately calibrated.

Ruth's Chris Overland Park delivers exactly what it promises: a big, well-managed wine list staffed by people who know it, served in proper glassware at prices that will make you wince. Send a friend here for a business dinner or a celebration, but tell them to stick to the mid-tier California reds and leave the prestige bottles for someone else's tab.

Garozzo's isn't a wine destination, but it's a reliable Italian dinner with a list that won't embarrass you — especially if you show up on a Sunday. Half-price bottles up to $100 is a legitimate deal, and for a neighborhood Italian that's been around long enough to bottle its own Chianti, there's more to like here than the list length suggests.

The Cheesecake Factory's wine list exists to reduce friction, not create excitement — it's a corporate safety net dressed up as a wine program. Order the Decoy, enjoy your Chicken Madeira, and save your wine curiosity for somewhere that actually wants it.

Tavern at Mission Farms is a reliable neighborhood wine list — nothing that'll move you, but Wednesday half-price bottles flip the math entirely and make this worth a weekly habit. Come for the deal, not the depth.

Spin! Pizza is a perfectly fine place to eat pizza; the wine list is an afterthought that exists because restaurants need wine lists. Come on a Monday, order a bottle of Gnarly Head at half-price, and make peace with what this is.

La Bodega isn't trying to be a wine bar, but the half-price Monday and Thursday deals, Spain-focused list, and food-friendly pours make it the most fun you can have drinking wine with tapas in Kansas City. Go on a Thursday, order the Marqués de Cáceres, and don't overthink it.

This is a wine program by committee, for volume, not for pleasure. If someone at your table insists on wine, grab a glass while you're waiting to be seated and enjoy the half-price benefit — but don't plan your evening around what's in the glass.

Ciao Bella isn't going to blow any minds with its wine program, but it's honest, fairly priced, and the Wine Down Wednesday deal on bottles over $40 is legitimately one of the better weekly wine promos in the area. Show up on a Wednesday, order something Italian, and you'll leave happy.
