You open the bar menu expecting a wine list and find something closer to a wine suggestion box — three options, two of which you've seen at every chain restaurant from here to Tallahassee. This is not a wine program. This is a wine placeholder.
Kim Crawford and Meiomi are doing all the heavy lifting here, which is to say there's no heavy lifting at all. Both are perfectly fine, nationally distributed bottles that require zero thought to order or stock. There's no regional identity, no adventurous pours, no attempt to match a seafood-forward menu with anything beyond the most recognizable labels on the shelf. A house wine rounds out the trio, but no details on what that actually is — which tells you everything you need to know about how seriously wine is taken here.
All three options come by the glass, which is technically a 100% by-the-glass program — but when the list is only three deep, that's not a flex. Prices run $6 for house and $9 for the name brands, which sounds reasonable until you remember these bottles retail for $12-$15.
The Bottom Line
Bonefish Grill isn't trying to be a wine destination, and the three-label bar menu makes that abundantly clear. Order a cocktail, enjoy the fish, and save your wine curiosity for a restaurant that shares it.
