Wingman Metrics
Walk into Bacchus of Lebanon and the wine list isn't what you're thinking about β the belly dancing, the mezze, the whole sensory situation takes over first. But once you settle in and actually look at the list, there's something genuinely interesting happening here: Lebanon's own wine country is front and center, and that's not something you stumble across every day in suburban Maryland.
The list is compact β call it 30 to 60 bottles β but it earns its keep by leaning into Lebanese appellations that most D.C.-area restaurants completely ignore. Chateau Musar anchors the serious end, a Bekaa Valley legend that ages like good Bordeaux and costs a fraction of comparable French bottles. Ksara's CuvΓ©e du Pape and Massaya Classic round out the Lebanese contingent, giving you options from entry-level to occasion-worthy. French and Mediterranean bottles fill the gaps, keeping less adventurous drinkers comfortable without letting the list lose its identity.
Glass pours clock in around $8, which is honestly refreshing in a market where $14 pours have become the norm. The by-the-glass selection is estimated at 6 to 10 options β not a huge range, but at that price point, you're not being punished for exploring. Rotation appears minimal, so don't expect a new surprise every visit.
Massaya Classic β $8/glass
A Lebanese red blending Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah from the Bekaa Valley β this is an $8 glass that has no business drinking as well as it does. It's an easy yes.
Ksara CuvΓ©e du Pape
Most people at this table are ordering French. Don't. Ksara has been making wine in the Bekaa Valley since 1857 and the CuvΓ©e du Pape is a structured, food-friendly red that most guests walk right past. Their loss.
Generic French House Red
When Chateau Musar and Ksara are on the same list, ordering a forgettable French house pour is a missed opportunity. The Lebanese bottles are why you're here β use them.
Chateau Musar + Shish Kebab
Musar's signature earthiness and dried fruit depth match the smoky char of grilled lamb skewers without fighting the spice. It's a classic Bekaa Valley match that the wine was practically made for.
π² The Bottom Line
Bacchus of Lebanon isn't a wine destination by any stretch, but it's one of the few spots in Bethesda where you can drink actual Lebanese wine with Lebanese food β and that specificity matters. If you're even mildly curious about what the Bekaa Valley is doing, this is an approachable, affordable place to find out.

This is a wine list for people who aren't really thinking about wine, and there's no shame in ordering a cocktail instead. If you're staying at the hotel, grab a glass at the bar and call it a night β just don't expect the list to reward any real attention.

Clyde's isn't a wine destination, but it's not trying to be β and the Monday half-price bottle deal genuinely redeems a list that would otherwise be hard to recommend at full price. Come for the vibe, come back on a Monday.

Yard House Gaithersburg is a craft beer destination that happens to sell wine β and the wine list knows it. Come for the taps, stay for the pretzels, and don't expect the Pinot Noir to surprise you.

McCormick & Schmick's Bethesda isn't a wine destination β it's a corporate seafood chain with a wine list to match, priced for convenience, not discovery. Order a cocktail, or bring a bottle if they allow corkage.

Spanish Diner Bethesda is a wildcard: a laid-back all-day spot with a wine list that has no business being this interesting. The markups keep it from being a destination wine play, but if you're in Bethesda and want to drink actual Spain with your tapas, this is your move.

Morton's Bethesda is a well-run, expensive wine program built to please a crowd that already knows what it likes β and it delivers that without apology. Send a friend here if they want a great glass of Napa Cab with a perfect steak; send them elsewhere if they're looking for anything resembling discovery.
